I gotta say, I really appreciate how you let the stand up play out as intended. You're absolutely right, comedians on the level of Carlin or Burr absolutely iron out their bits until they have the pacing and delivery down pat. They have a deliberate flow to how they want their jokes and stories to hit the audience, and too many times on other react channels, the reactor fucks it up by pausing to add their two cents. So I appreciate that about your channel. Take care and god bless.

I've been watching your videos and you are amazing. I am so subbed to your channel. I absolutely love your thoughts on the subjects you watch but even more than that, the way you articulate them. You don't even have to tell people that you're an avid book reader - your vocabulary and choice of words in general, does that for you. You are an extremely intelligent person and your calm, serene demeanor makes listening to you, a pure joy to my years and brain. Also, I love your smile. PS: one of the things that give me the ick is when people drop items that make loud noises, on the floor. That's funny because I usually listen to music very loudly, but items being dropped just gives me the ick for some reason. As for books, The Invisible Man, The Time Machine and War Of The Worlds - all by H.G. Wells. Although, you might have probably read all 3 of them.

This is so kind, thanks Andrei! I'm glad you're liking the channel. I could see how loud noises (heavy footsteps, dropping pans, etc.) would be annoying, especially when one is trying to sleep. Great book choices!

I used to have a rotweiler as well, and he would not have hurt a fly... but he did attack snow shovels for some reason... he was a rescue, so maybe a previous owner hurt him with a snow shovel? Anyway, good reaction as always, and you are right about comedians like Carlin and Burr, you need to let it flow as was intended! I read a lot of sci-fi, and I recommend the one I just finished : "The creature from beyond Infinity" by Henry Huttner

Great reaction video. The way you talk and reflect on the issue is pleasant and thought-provoking. Bill Burr makes a comedy out of things that are serious and he does it very intelligently. Thank you for pointing out how children also feed off of parents' energy. Very true. Hearing that you just read Idiot by Dostoevsky elevated my spirits. I'm from St. Petersburg and know Dostoevsky's great grandson who is 77 now. My favorite author.

You said kids and dogs are alike and that aspect. You are right but there's even more, both kids and dogs look to the owner/parent for direction and learning the boundaries that are going to get them through their day-to-day life. That's why "no" is one of the most important words you can use with a child or a dog. This then creates the contrast that makes positive reinforcement so powerful.

Not been a fan of a lot of the Bill Burr I have seen up until now, but this was rather amusing. I whole-heartedly agree about not interrupting the flow of a comedic 'rant, so thank you for not doing that. The way a lot of good comedians manage to make you sit and think whilst making you laugh is, to me, a delight - two birds with one stone. I am sufficiently old and grumpy and hacked off with the world as it is I tend not to read non-fiction, but one I did read a short while ago I found interesting. The title eludes me, but the author was, I believe, Ben Rich and it was about his time at the Lockheed Skunk Works - I am sure a web search would turn it up! (And yes, I *am* being lazy in not doing so here)

When I was little and we just got our puppy rottie. I thought it was adorable when he would growl and bark as a puppy. From very early I’d get him to growl and bark at me before we would play. It was cute until we were outside and the dog was in the yard un-chained, and a lady was walking by with her kid in a stroller. My dog runs up as a 120lb grown Rottie and starts growling and barking at the lady. The lady and her kid froze and both started crying. I could see my dogs tail wagging and knew he just wanted to play but all the lady saw was a very large powerful angry dog barking at her and her baby. I felt so bad even as a small kid. It took my a long time to un-train this behavior. To this day that dog was the gentlest dog I have ever known.

I have an "ick" circumstance for you. Not my own. I got it from a TV show called according to Jim. He hates the way his wife eats peaches. Chops it up into cubes and sticks toothpicks into each cube because as she says she can't have the juice touching her face. So at breakfast one morning "Jim" and her have a moment and he storms off to work. He tells her later it was just about the peaches. Later that night his wife wakes him up and asks was it really about the peaches. He says yes and she asks why he didn't want to talk about it. He says.... because he's a guy who likes to sleep instead of talking about summer fruit all night. He said he's upset in the moment and then the moment passes. 🤣🤣

Bill Burr is great, I very much enjoy watching his specials and Conan appearances (don't particularly like Conan, but him and Burr mix well). While I don't have any thematically related literary recommendation for you right now, I'd like to recommend a video to react to. You've reacted to Jordan Peterson before, and this is a more funny yet still highly intelligent video. Its called "The Breakfast from Hell" or alternatively "Suicide and Breakfast". They're the same video, except in the 2nd one he first talks a bit about the suicide of a friend and then segways that into the "breakfast from hell" bit. It could definitely be considered the more serious but also more deep version of the video, since the suicide bit acts as extra context for the later dive into resentment in the breakfast bit (which he phrases brilliantly hilarious, almost like a stand up comedian). Its both an entertaining and thought inspiring video to watch and discuss.

As kids we would be grossed out but still laugh as kernels went flying in all directions around the dinner table & we would bob and weeve, as Clyde would say. As the humble “servant” to two aging Pit Bulls, I can attest that everything Bill said about his dog is true. I had to have one of my dogs sent away for 8 weeks of intensive training. I’ve never given up on him and he was the best thing that could have happened, to me, at the time he came into my life. I do have to watch my temper around him, he is particularly sensitive to negative energy. I think you might appreciate the author Denton Welch. I recommend ‘I Left My Grandfather’s House” and ‘In Youth Is Pleasure’.

My favorite fiction is "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck and "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco. I'd recommend either of them.

I’ve read East of Eden so I’ll start with the Umberto Eco title, thank you Peter!

As far as fiction goes I'd recommend Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. As for stuff to react to, maybe check out David Foster Wallace's 'This is Water' speech; I try to listen to it every once in a while but never could share it with someone. Either way, keep up the good work!

He eventually had to give up the dog, once he had kids, because he wasn't able to get it trained well enough to be around babies. Sad, but Bill definitely seemed to learn a lot, and he definitely loved that dog.
