He gives a very different portrait of his dad now than he did back when he shared very imtimate details of family dysfunction and emotional neglect he felt he got from his dad. I'm sure both of them finally got to a point where they can express feelings to eachother and have talked about it privately to a fairly deep level. That video of him telling his story as he called it is really hard to watch, you can see him hurting
@fe50185 жыл бұрын
What video are you talking about? I hadn't heard him characterise it as neglect in those terms before....

F E Look up Bill Burr “The Moth”. It’s tough to watch but it’s an incredible story.

@@noogie003 much thanks bud 👍 Jfc that was upsetting. Tbh OP, I sincerely doubt they ever got to the point of being able to talk about this stuff in a deep and meaningful way, I think it's more likely Bill just evolved enough as a person to be able to have compassion and understanding for his dad and what made *him* act that way so can now see the good alongside the bad.

nah, that never happens. if they have a relationship now it's because bill learned to stop expecting more from him. my old man was the same way. old guys like that never change

This was probably the highlight of his fathers day. Probably laughing all the way to work with the image of his kids waiting for a bus that’s never gonna come. Then he stepped into work and the laughter stopped.

When i feel bad about My dad i look up these Classic stories and think of how bill burr always calls him a great man after these stories of torment
@stonedjesus98874 жыл бұрын
I got a love/hate relationship with my old man too and it's kinda similar to the way Bill speaks of his father so these stories kinda resonate wit me. My point being that one can think their father is a fuckin prick (like I do) but also live the guy to death (like I do), I got no shame saying that even tho my old man is a fuckin asshole pretty often, he's also my best fuckin friend on this waste of a planet
