The thing I love about Bill Burr when he goes on these rants is he says all the things we think or feel... but know we shouldn't. He's right. Sometimes the level of "tragedy" reaches a point where it becomes absurd. And laughing about things you can't change is a healthy survival strategy. Processing everyone else's tragedy as though it was your own leads to burnout and compassion fatigue.

My brother starts pissing himself, I think even more so because he knew he should laugh in that situation, then because he started laughing, I started pissing my self, my mum then quietly started chuckling, while trying to tell us to shut up haha, my dad then started laughing.

He explicitly said that he had even worse stuff and instead of trying to change the subject to keep things "safe", Conan said "well, you may as well get it out now" because he knew this bit was legendary. He literally had Conan in tears at one point because as much as Conan has to hold on to his professional image, Conan and Bill have a very similar sense of humor having grown up in the same timeframe and having experienced many of the same things. Conan has always understood Bill in a way that other hosts just don't and that is why Bill has always had his best talk show bits when he's with Conan.

@gsolomonla Жыл бұрын
Joan Rivers would never have had a career today, she made fun of the painful things that exist around us to get through painful things and mostly made fun of her own shortcomings, so self deprecating, knowing laughter is the best medicine. But now you can’t make a joke about race, color, religion, gender or risk being erased, what a dull, boring, and over sensitive society we’ve become, not knowing 50 years ago almost every kid got picked on at some point and we never got hugs or coddled when we went home in tears, no participation trophy if we failed miserably at anything, it only made us stronger, try harder, and achieve more. We now realize that the bullies were really the weak ones and didn’t amount to much. But there’s no way to teach kids what you know 50 years later. You can pick them up when they fall, but too much will make them too fragile, dependent, boring without a sense of humor, which is why 20 something’s are triggered by everything and tend not to be funny.

What Conan says about so much care and attention being given to children resonates with me. Children are so much better at navigating life than adults give them credit for. Obviously that's grossly simplified but children aren't pieces of clay to be moulded, they're plants that just need water and nutrients to grow into a complete person.

Bill Burr: I was just laughing so hard! (that they were crying about being fat) Conan (with PC police clicked on): No one will ever hear this...

I feel like bill's humor meshes perfectly with depression. And it wouldn't surprise me if bill suffers from some depressive symptoms sometimes but he's scared that mean kids will throw rocks at him if he ever admitted it

I relate so much to Bill here. Some things are just so over-the-top awful that it becomes comedy. Thanks to Team CoCo for putting this content out there. Makes the rest of us feel normal.

Reminds me of the time I saw Titanic in the theatre. The more people cried at Jack's death, the more it made me laugh. D'oh!!!

I love it - how he just takes the audience on this ride along and just at the peak... pushes them down.. you can almost hear them free-falling at 10:40

I love how Bill's mother in law gets his back, they sound like a true power duo 🤣🤣🤣

I think this helps explain what Bill's wife sees in him. Her mom must be a quirky crack-up too.

Congratulation on to whoever did the lighting on this set, Bill and Conan have never looked more pasty.

There is a reason this video is surging towards the million views mark in three days. It's the genuineness. The genuineness of the laughter, the self awareness... and sona and conan's reactions.

Bill is nature’s antidepressant, if you’re not laughing you’re taking life too seriously😂😂
