Former President Clinton says good leaders need to be "as tough as nails" but still have "tender hearts."
"I don't believe being nice is inconsistent with being tough and smart," the 42nd president says in a promotional clip for his new MasterClass, released Thursday.
"You've got to be tough as nails with your tender heart."
Clinton's course for subscribers of the online instructional site focuses on "inclusive leadership."
In 14 lessons, Clinton shares his "action-oriented and people-centered approach to leadership through powerful stories from his political career," MasterClass said in an announcement.

Clinton's course for subscribers of the online instructional site focuses on "inclusive leadership."
In 14 lessons, Clinton shares his "action-oriented and people-centered approach to leadership through powerful stories from his political career," MasterClass said in an announcement.
"This is a particularly disorienting time for billions of people in the world. You've got major uncertainties about what's going to happen in the years ahead," Clinton, 75, says into the camera in a preview clip released by the company. "At a time like that, you really need good leadership skills. And you need people whose goal it is to pull people together, not drive them apart."
"People need to feel the potential to create a better tomorrow," Clinton adds.
Clinton teased the class is "unlike anything I've ever done," and will teach viewers to "work with people you don't agree with and may not even like."

Bill Clinton accomplished more right-wing goals than the Republicans. And the Democratic Party is STILL at the right-of-center place where Clinton left it. Let's face it. We have two right-wing parties. One of them is "woke," but I'm not convinced that's an improvement. When Obama was asked to name a transformative president he admired, his answer was Ronald Reagan. Please tell me again why it is urgent that I keep voting blue

@@ricomajestic NAFTA killed millions of good paying American jobs. Clinton's welfare reform caused children in poor families to go to bed hungry. His crime bill filled our prisons with nonviolent people of color. His financial deregulation and repeal of Glass-Steagall led too massive wealth inequality. He tried to privatize Social Security. He used racist rhetoric in his campaigns. Clinton oversaw the draconian “Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigration Responsibility Act” of 1996. It increased all levels of immigration “enforcement,” expanding the Border Patrol, criminalizing numerous types of low-level immigration violations, and facilitating and expanding deportation procedures. Bill Clinton and Al Gore campaigned as champions of the environment. Yet, it was on their watch that ancient forest logging was resumed. The Alaska National Petroleum Reserve (twice the size of ANWR) was opened to the oil companies.

And that's fine. It's not my business to care what people get up to in their intimate lives. Wear the dog suit if that's what you enjoy. It's much, MUCH worse that she had to be smeared to protect him. And that's what I think about every time he appears: he sicced Sidney Blumenthal on her.

That math thing has to do with long term information compression. At 15 years old the last decade was essentially almost your entire life to you. At 65, the last decade is a blip in your memory compared to the overall amount of experience you have. Now that I’m 25, I’m noticing years are passing by insanely fast now. @philippebrehier7386
@philippebrehier7386 2 жыл бұрын
Yep. "Get out there. Learn new things. Do something novel." And that's the best way to slow your subjective time again (not MAGA but SYSTA ;-). When you are a child, you need to pay more attention to allmost everything because most of those things are new to you, so your brain senses the urge to decompose those new complexe things in parts to understand them better. And it's also a way to favor neurogenesis. To travel by foot with friends to discover new things is, by far, the best medecine against deterioration caused by old age (with nut and olive oils, full of good fats for the brain). Hey ! from France. Good luck with all your strikes and take care of each other to be able to hold longer. you gonna need it even more as they just gutted the "reconciliation" bill and the BBB to rebuild the USA. :-)

the effect is a logarithmic perception of time. essentially, when you are 4 years old, 1 year is a really long time because it's 1/4th of your life and 100% of your memories. when you are 100 years old, 1 year is 1/100th of your life, and barely 2% of your memories.

The reason for that phenomenon is the fact that the older you get, a day or a year feels like less because those time frames are a smaller proportion of your life. For example, when youre 5, a year is a huge chunk of your life. But when you're 55, a year is like just another tally on the sheet. A very small portion of one's life.

The politicians on the ticket are chosen at a political party's caucus. 1. Go to your political party's caucus. 2. Advocate for your chosen candidates. Of course there is lots of details that make the big picture more complicated but, the path forward is dead simple. It's disingenuous to advocate helplessness when you have a say in the desired outcome.
