This is the most important jazz piano work of the 20th century. And I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that it already ranks high on the list in the 21st century. Bill Dobbins has employed his genius to produce a work of great value. Thank you!!!

This is wonderful. For anyone interested, Bill Dobbin's has written out each one of these solos with even more detailed writeups of each composer and performer in his book The Contemporary Jazz Pianist Volume 4.

THIS GUY IS SO SEVERELY GIFTED - he makes me sick!!. To be able to play in any of the styles of the old and modern masters is an amazing talent. For anybody who loves jazz piano, this is an hour and a half not to be missed.

Man, you are so right! How many of the guys he is teaching on can actually do what he just did??? He is amazing and obviously an underrated and certified master! He is right at their level and more in my book. I listen to this all the time with the book he published for it. One day I will actually attempt to play all 24. LOL!!

@@dstrongcrowe432strong6 Dobbins is incredible! Every serious jazz pianist should study this, and study it, and study it, and.... you get the idea. :)

Clare Fischer once said to me that on first hearing the 'Clare' arrangement, he said "Damn! This guy's got me figured out!" That's a great compliment, because needless to say, Clare had a VERY unique approach to harmony.

Thank you very much for this--I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing presentation by Bill Dobbins! It must be incredibly enjoyable to be able to sit down and play all those different styles so well! I wish that Dave Brubeck had been included here, but I realize there's no way to pay tribute to all the great jazz pianists in one go. Still, I'd take "In Your Own Sweet Way" over a great many of the compositions of the jazz pianists who are included in this presentation. But still, this was wonderfully enjoyable, and thank you again so much for sharing it!

the only thing that surprises me is that he didnt include Herbie Hancock

Check the Clare Fisher Part. Hancock was heavily inspired by him. Put in some Blues/Soul/Funk and Quartal Shenanigans and there you go.
