I hope I never meet anyone related to or even resembling these two dislikers. This is magic sprinkled on ivory.

Bill always changed the harmony to wholetone chords , that's what gives him his own sound

Heard them many times and still hear Marc sometimes at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis . Great group .Sad ending with Evan's but a great musician and then some. Few have moved me as he did

Hyslop65 Wow, incredible you can still see Mark play! He was one of my greatest influences in playing upright. His technique and style is always on point!

Absolutely beautiful!! I love his harmonic lushness and his melodic tastefulness. Check this recording of the same song Bill Evans Trio-"The Two Lonely People" from "Blue in Green: The Concert in Canada"

Thank you. This is a wonderful link and your memories of Bill Evans are both fascinating and insightful. Being English, I was obviously struck by Bill Evans' interest in Hardy and Blake. And having listened extensively to his music, I can see why those two creative geniuses would have been such a draw. I've no doubt that they in turn would have adored Bill Evans' brilliant, introspective compositions.

If you want to hear it this way, and I'm wondering if others notice and agree, listen to Bill's every effort to make a poorly-working piano sound tolerable. Even the bassist and drummer are working overtime in the effort. The seeming ease with which Evans can make a piano ring and sing is absent here. I'd add that this problem is nicely turned around by all as they give the tune a careful, more recognizable construnction. Comments?

My only comment is that old bill’s fingers deserve 9ft concert grands wherever they go.

Johnson comes on so strong here! But I like it, even if it's at Bill's expense. Seldom do we hear basses so well defined.I find this very touching. All cuts from this Italian session are very choice.

I don't know about poorly-working. Definitely poorly-tuned, which is why it doesn't sing (unison's are out).
