What’s also really beautiful here, is that Pablo holds off, and listens deeply, to help Bill articulate those thoughts and find his way to them. So that we can all find that voice, at the wellspring and bring it forth regardless of being a musician 🌫️

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don't bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from - it's where you take them to." -Jim Jarmusch

I've had the pleasure of seeing Bill and Paul on different occasions. My favorite album is the Tokyo Live one with Joe Lovano. Such solid, heartfelt understandings of melodies and such amazing, beautiful, co-habitating harmonic and rhythmic combinations and collisions. Their music goes straight to my pleasure zone, sometimes making me laugh or cry. Missing Paul for about 10 years. Looking forward to more music from amazing Joe and amazing Bill. Thank you!!!!

I think the most important thing an artist can achieve is to be unique in every part of life like Bill Frisell.

I've seen many of his performances on KZbin and have seen him live at The Village Vanguard with the Paul Motion Trio. I have all his Winter & Winter recordings. It's all very good but my favorite is hearing the live Trio. Bill is excellent in this venue and it's hard to believe it's only 3 musicians playing. It sometimes sounds like a big band.

Originality is a blessed liability. However, if you get a Grammy, it's perceived as an asset of genius. Meanwhile, those who have no choice just do what they do. Yeah Bill. Thanks

Jonathan Kriesberg said something like he tries to be as perfect as possible and his imperfections are his "voice"
