Hearing Frisell in a bigger group with trumpet makes me ponder what it would have been like if he'd gotten a chance to play with Miles. Of course he's very different from any other Miles guitarist, but it seems like it could have been a fruitful match.

reading this reminded me of a time when a friend introduced me to Ron Miles, later said "this is the Miles of our time". I know he meant in regard to level of playing, though he also composes some wonderful music, has played with Bill for a while. Both of them were Denver East High graduates from different generations, they have also played with another Denver raised musician, drummer Rudy Royston.
