Whoever mixed this doesn't seem to think you need to hear the drums (Brian Blade!) much. We're missing a lot not getting the full interaction between these great players.

Wish, Freedom in the groove and Moodswing are his masterpieces, absoluetly genius. I might be called an ignorant, but his following stuff just does not meet up anymore, at least I can say it does not touch my belly ;-) But in these three albums Redman has achieved what for decades has not been achieved by any jazz musician, he created standards!

Something similar happens me, but after the "Passage of Time" album However, in my opinion there is some reminiscence of that "All-Star Quartet vibes" from the Moodswing era, in the album called "RoundAgain", especially with the track called "Right Back Round Again"
