For that price I'd be expecting a complimentary membership at the Monaco Yacht club and a bottle of Moet & Chandon imperial brut upon arrival. $644 Million is in the higher price category for a Yacht, but what about the running costs, maintenance and mooring fees associated with the vessel ? Lets not forget about insurance and registration fees. How many staff are required to keep it functioning optimally ?

« Hydrogen is completely clean » yeah right…To produce hydrogen you need enormous quantities of energy (electricity) which, in most cases in the world, is created by fossil fuels or gas and in the best case nuclear power or solar/wind energy. So for this yacht to be really clean you would need to fill it up only with green hydrogen from renewable sources, which would be hard and incredibly expensive given the fact that not a lot of countries have such technologies available to produce hydrogen + how inneficient wind or solar energy sources are at producing hydrogen. Otherwise you just displace the problem by having a yacht that produces no fumes when your hydrogen is used on board but it comes from fossil fuels being burned on land. A good PR operation but nothing more

Hydrogen power for boats/yachts are definitely the way to go! Aqua, is most certainly magnificent and beautiful! The design can be for small boats and surely great innovation can come quickly about, should the demand be there?

Chris & Tango #SaveTheBees it depends on how the hydrogen is created. Hydrogen is a way to store energy not to create it. For now most of the hydrogen is made by using fossil fuels but that is changing quite quick. They divide the creation of hydrogen in 3 possibilities: grey, blue and green. Green being hydrogen create by solar and wind energy. As for the future, hydrogen will probably be used for the bigger and stronger machines (trucks and bigger), smaller machinery will probably stick with batteries.. but who knows what the future looks like and what will be invented ;)

Where would the yacht refuel? People in California who leased hydrogen powered cars are very dissatisfied with getting fuel. Often when they reach one of the few hydrogen fueling stations, they find the station is out of hydrogen. I love the concept of hydrogen fueled vehicles with zero emissions but until refueling stations are built and hydrogen is readily available I won’t be getting one. I live in Georgia which has no hydrogen stations. That all said, this is a beautiful yacht. I love the design. Thanks for sharing.
