About solar why don't we just get those solar cells to meet a 80 percent efficiency
@kimweaver1252Күн бұрын
Why don't we get ALL of our systems to operate at 80 percent efficiency? Oh, because it's hard and really expensive.
@ZMacZКүн бұрын
That's actually not neccesary. Solar panels that only use parts of the UV in sunlight, can allow plants underneath to grow. Basically, a forest can be underneath semi transparent solar panels or solar film, while the water from rain can be guided using the solar panels shape to either water the plants, or in the case of surplus be lead into a basin for later potable water supply, or if still too much surplus, into the ocean. This can be extended upon by supplying dry areas from the surplus water, using solar powered pumping mechanisms. The solar panels have their surplus energy transferred to currently less powered areas through UHVDC in global power grid. FYI, the global energy usage can be made by mere 500x500 km2 solar panel covered area. At 1000x1000 km2, this would be 4 fold the current power usage, and would make power so abundant that even the most powerhungry recycling methods can be used and made affordable, which in turn cleans up things really fast by not needing most, if not all mining methods. Sorry, I'm on gluhwine.

You can buy a Prius that has solar cells but you got to Pay for that extra ,, the solar cells work as a slow charger you won't be able to get full charge for a Tesla on Solar cells alone
@ZMacZКүн бұрын
@@denisrichard3922 Ofc, but you'll never stand still during the day, and extend some range by using less battery, which also extendes battery life. And also, you would be able to get full charge, it would just take longer. (Instead of charging the whole battery array at once, you can instead charge cells individually, which makes any power input enough to allow for such.)

5:57 Now if only he'd include a fast exchange battery option for the cars. Stop at 'gas' station, pay by swipe, machine exchanges empty batteries for fresh charged ones in 30 seconds, while you get a fresh latte from the shop. And yes, the 'gas' stations all are solar powerd for the most part, with mainline hookup to potential power storage during the night or busy times. The average gas station being 2500 m2, it can hand out 3750 kwh per day on it's own. (which also makes the owner about $750 richer per day for people doing a swipe payment.) ($0.20 per kwh, the shop is just for extra service and helps local employment.) (The solar installation would cost a mere $80.000) Since Tesla's have an auto-drive function, positioning in front of the battery exchanger should be a breeze.

I happen to love Ray Bradbury books. I however don't believe that we can truly colonize Mars. The Red Planet does not provide protection from the radiation as Earth does. Our curiosity is a great aspect to have but sadly I believe that the Universe is a rather harsh place to live.
@kimweaver1252Күн бұрын
I love speculative fiction, too. But the big question never answered is WHY go to MARS? You can be just as uncomfortable and isolated here on Earth, with the option of getting out of the situation on short notice if you chose to. Before you sign up to go to Mars, try a six to ten year stay in Antarctica. Overwintering there. Climate is about the same, but with more water and a lot more oxygen.

The current roads will not be able to handle the weight of the EV trucks.
@kimweaver1252Күн бұрын
Sure they will, but it's just that a much lesser amount of the weight will be the cargo they are hauling. So, instead of a 30 thousand pound rig hauling 50 thousand pounds of freight, you have a 50 thousand pound rig hauling 30 thousand pounds of freight. So, I guess that means more rigs sold? Also more drivers hired. Until somebody actually comes up with FSD that works, then there will be NO drivers.

China's economy is based on trade, they don't sell, they go broke real fast. China does not want war, but equally is not showing weakness either. Politics. If People get what they need everyone goes forward, if not, chaos. Chaos leads to less, never more, no one in politics wants war, they use is as a tool. Remember Vietnam war, everyone turned on the leaders. Especially today, politics is tightrope in high places. Go where the wind blows. So, China wants to sell, and live off trade, US can live of high tech, everyone happy.
