I assume its because IBM was lacking foresight on some of their work. Like many tech starts up they take time to drive from an innovative approach to get up. But as they move up the ladder let’s say from a 15 million dollar company to a Fortune 500 they would need to change management and oriented into thinking mainly about how generate more revanche and staying ahead. Afterwards another small company becomes vague and so it goes on.

I strongly agree with Bill gates initiative, promoting common core standards in schools. My sister is a second grade teacher in the Seattle area and I had the opportunity of seeing the material first hand, while helping her compile the packets for every student. I felt the program was very well structured, innovative and I believe would greatly help many teachers who do not put in the time to figure out the best items to focus on. It is imperative to place a standard for every teacher to achieve. My sister (Lisa) viewed it differently because she has taught for years and has adopted a system that worked in her classroom and for her adapting required a lot of time and effort. Nevertheless Lisa adapted and the children’s knowledge and testing that year showed significant improvement. Unfortunately, there are not many teachers, who are willing to put in the time required (common core) to teach those subject well. I appreciate the effort, donations, and leadership of the Gates foundation in trying to improve the educational system of the U.S.
