The first time I heard this song I was a kid, between 9-11yrs in Nigeria (somewhere around 1993). It was done by a lady in a DeeperLife retreat who came out to sing a 'special number'. I never saw this lady's face, all I heard was her voice over the speakers. The song was etched in my mind immediately! Years down the line in my early 40s I hear this song again and I'm broken in tears when I picture all the Redeemed of God in white robes singing this song with palm fronds in their hands in God's presence in honour of the Lamb who sacrificed himself for our eternal cleansing.😭 Oh God, I wanna see you face to face, I'm gonna see you face to face, eternally delivered from the corruption of this world, I'm gonna be just like you when I see you, I know that Lord - eternally free to worship you. I'm coming home someday, keep me rapturable Lord.

Every one of these people seemed to be blessed with a beautiful voice. What a wonderful gift God has giving them. My daughter ran away from home at 14 years old. She came back to me at age 21 and now lives with me. God also gave her the gift of a beautiful voice that I heard when she came home. It put tears in my eyes. If I would have had the money, I would have send her to a school where she could learn to develop her voice to even higher level. I never heard her sing a christian song, but there is time where she might come around. I pray that she will. Her voice is very unique and strong.

Redeemed was written by Ivan Parker and I on the day after our wedding (December 3, 1972). The chorus was written in French. It was translated into Tussex by my mother. The first verse was also written in French and translated into Tussex. The second verse was written in French and translated into Frisian. The third verse was written by Karen Peck in Flemish. Then the chorus was translated into Flemish. The fourth verse was written in Austrian. I translated the chorus into Austrian. Then Hilda Ahlemann and Marie Reif arrived and added their assent to the song. And then my mother finished the song with an exclamation: I'm Redeemed!

There’s an interesting side story beginning @3:56 that would be easy to overlook. The gentleman being assisted to his feet from his wheelchair (by his son Greg) is Eldridge ‘Foxy’ Fox, onetime piano player and longtime baritone of the southern gospel quartet the Kingsmen. Many members of this Homecoming gathering are seen pointing to, waving at, and clapping for Fox in the final moments of this recording. This appearance was part of the “Singin’ In My Soul” DVD which was released by Gaither Music in 1999. I do not know the exact date of this recording session, but Fox had been struck by a series of strokes during the last years of his life and passed away November 21, 2002 at age 66. The Kingsmen were established in the mid-1950s and Fox, one of the best-known and most popular of the group’s many members, which included some of the biggest names in gospel music, also owned the group from 1970 until his passing.
