Yes! He even had it with him when he was working from home during lockdown. It’s one of his most prized and beloved possessions he told someone in an interview who asked about it? A fan made and gave it too him during his last ever episode on SNL, she gave it to him as he was leaving and Bill, Fred, Andy, John and Jason was with him as they was going for one last drink together before Bill, Jason and Andy had to head back to LA and John doesn’t live to far from the studio. It’s one of the rare occasions where Bill has willingly taken a photo with a fan( he’s got a strict no selfie’s policy because if someone sees him posing with a fan he gets bombarded especially when he’s busy. He made the mistake of doing it once and was late picking up one of his daughters from playgroup. He said no more after that, he’ll sign anything within reason but he won’t pose for photos! He made it clear when they was promoting Documentary Now on 92Y one of his character’s on SNL stopped a young girl from committing suicide or something like that. She was depressed and was with planning on hurting herself or was hurting herself and Somehow one of Bills characters managed to make her see sense and she ended up getting professional help instead and it moved Bill that he told her she could have a photo with him at the end. Everyone else got excited and he jokingly but seriously yelled at everyone and said “only her no one else! I don’t take pictures with fan’s after I missed picking up one if my daughter’s once! I said never again, I have a strict no selfie’s rule!” Then he went on to explain what happened when the host asked him!) He stopped and agreed because she’d waited for hours in the rain just to give Seth the doll. I think she made Bill a Seth one and was planning on giving it to Seth to pass on to Bill next time they saw each other. She posted the photo online not sure it it’s still up. But yes he’s always got his Stefon doll on his desk! So they’ve both got a set of each other’s weekend update characters! Seth actually opened it once the woman had done them herself and they’re all different poses. One with his hands over his face, one looks like he’s doing jazz hands, another one is Stefon using his fingers like he does when he’s running off the list of things and he looks like uses his fingers too count them Etc... she did an amazing job with the detail on each of them!?! I think she had her own business where she did this sort of thing. If you can find the photo of them altogether you’ll find her name and business details if she’s still doing this sort of thing!?!

It's weird to listen to Hader explain why he was covering his mouth. I didn't think Stefon was funny until I saw how much he was struggling to stay in character, every time. That's what the audience laughed at most. So I thought it was part of the Stefon skits. He does it on the coal miner skit too.

@@PhillyFrank1 he’s explained Stefon’s roots and creation a lot, so has John! He doesn’t need to and is probably sick of being asked how the character became to be in the first place just out of respect for the coffee guy who actually quit his job because of it when Bill said who he was based on going into detail about the guy’s voice, accent, mannerisms Etc... if you knew where Bill lived in NY you know which coffee house he went to every single day and people would show up just to meet the guy Bill spoke about a lot until Bill went in one day and the manager had a go at him because the guy just quit and left town and blamed Bill for ruining his life. And I think that affected Bill a lot so he doesn’t go into detail about who he’s based on. I think that’s why John has never revealed his friends name that the character is also based on after seeing the state Bill was in blaming himself for going into such detail about the guy who he actually spoke to everyday and even lifted and used where he actually lived as part of one of the sketches. The guy told Bill he lived on “The lower, lower east side!” When he asked him and Bill wrote it in as part of Stefon!

The writers would intentionally switch the scripts between the rehearsal and the live show, which meant that everything that cam out of this mouth was things that he'd never read/said before.

Well he’s always voted number one of SNL original characters of all time and he’s now officially in the SNL hall of fame! Plus the love and respect Bill gets from a lot of the original OG cast members from the early years as well as recent years they’ve all said that Bill Hader is the most talented male performer to ever come out of SNL and Dana, Will and Bill Murray always talk about it saying that Bill Hader was the best thing to ever happen to SNL. They’re not knocking anyone else because they all think a lot of talented people have worked on the show but none of them to the level of Bill. Bill gets embarrassed when he’s asked about what they’ve said about him because he thinks it’s the other way around because he grew up watching them! They also give him credit for doing live TV every single week knowing that if he messed up there was no do overs while suffering from a severe anxiety disorder (something that a lot of the crew actually called Bill a liar to his face about until an incident on weekend update. Bill had a full on panic attack live on air and then collapsed just as he left the stage. The network and Lorne got so many complaints that week because the viewers at home watching knew something was seriously wrong with Bill, his whole body was shaking that bad everyone thought he was either about to have a fit or stroke live on TV and Bill had actually been telling the crew he wasn’t feeling well and they called him a liar! People was so angry that he was made to perform in that state when it was clear to see something was wrong with him! That video i actually find upsetting and disturbing to watch and why it’s not been taken down I don’t know but watching a full grown man in that state where he could barely talk and only broke character once and not in a funny way, Bill broke character in his own voice which was shaking also and she asked Seth to please hurry up and finish? Which Seth agreed to do after seeing the state of Bill, his head was beating that fast you can hear it through his microphone as well as his breathing! He was sweating the color completely drained from his body you could actually see him going as pale it’s awful to watch! Bill was pulled from the rest of the episode, anything we saw him in later on was the live recorded dress rehearsal and they had to rewrite the rest of the show as it was going out. That episode was a mess and if that was my child or partner and I saw them in that state I would have been at that studio like a shot and people would be getting their ass kicked for putting them in danger!?! It’s why the following week when he returned Seth didn’t care they was live he kept stopping and checking on Bill during weekend update asking him if he was okay? Telling him it’s fine, to just take his time and breathe, don’t rush we’ll take all the time we need. Because he noticed Bill had started to panic again because of what happened the week before and he kept reassuring him. And that video is one of sweetest SNL videos because Seth wasn’t going to force Bill to do anything he didn’t want to do and it showed how much he cares for his friend! Seth even grabbed Bills hand at one point and gave it a squeeze and winked at him to let him know he was there and he wasn’t going to let anything happen to him again and it seemed to relax Bill, Seth doing that!) they all respect him even more now knowing that because anyone else with that condition at the level Bill has it would run a fricking mile if they was told they had to do live acting on TV for between 90 minutes too 2 hours every single week and it’s constantly drummed into you “don’t screw up because you’ve only got once chance to get it right, no do over!”

I watched it again awhile back and knowing what happened to him I found it upsetting and it made me feel sick watching it! If everyone at home could see something wasn’t right with him, why did no one in the studio see it! You could hear his heartbeat through his microphone as well as him struggling to breathe. I’ll see if I can find it if they’ve not taken it down and the one for the week after where Seth kept checking Bill was okay!?! It’s not hard to spot because it’s the only one where he only breaks character once and it’s not him laughing it’s Bill talking in his own voice and he asks Seth too please hurry up? Seth looks at someone Lorne I’m guessing and he tells Bill let’s wrap this up buddy and Bill breaks again while trying to stay in character and says please? And it ends a few seconds after that. XoX

@@harley7836 yeah, I suffer from severe anxiety myself, and I've experienced many panic attacks. It feels like you literally can't breathe and you can't not focus on the thing that your nervous about. As Bill had said its like someone is sitting on your chest. In cases of panic attacks, no one should ever just assume someone is faking it, especially on live tv. In my case, it was just small things like bugs or giving a speech in front of the class, in which case I wound up in the counselors office curled up in a ball, hyperventilating and crying my eyes out. But Bill couldn't just get up and leave, he's part of a skit, they are live on tv. At least Seth noticed the signs, and I'm glad that Bill has been able to overcome his anxiety and become successful in acting (something I want to do for a living, but everyone keeps telling me to be more 'realistic')

@@genesisknight9948 same here and I’ve got Complex PTSD the highest level you can be diagnosed with. I’ve managed too find the one where he’s having a full on panic attack. It’s just made me sick watching it again! Seth knew something was off because (1) Bill went off script changed the line to he’d been up for three days straight I’m guessing too cover up why he’s in the state he’s in. And (2) he starts repeating Seth’s lines! Tell them all too piss off hun! I’m an actress if that’s what you want to do then don’t let anyone stop you or tell you, you can’t! I was a victim of severe child abuse my own parents traded me for drugs too the local dealers and I’m a victim of every single type of Domestic Abuse and Violence at the hands of my first husband for over 20 years I only escaped because he almost killed me for a third time by fracturing my skull and he r*p*d me while I was laying there bleeding from all over my head and face as well as from all the bits of broken glass because he’d choked slammed me through a glass coffee table. And the paramedics saw he had blood on his body underneath his clothes and all my clothes which he’d put back on me was all ripped and stretched! For years I was told I was nothing (I’ve got a pretty good CV and I use too work at the RSC until my husband started gaining more control because he was jealous that I had a career and he couldn’t be what he wanted to be, so he took away mine. But I decided to get it back a few years ago.) don’t let your anxiety hold you back either. I meditate everyday and it helps me control mine along with my service animal which is a fully trained, registered and certified cat! Prove everyone wrong and if you can then walk away from them, take them out of your life because they’re only saying that because they’re not successful and don’t have the career that they wanted!
