Are you daft? THIS SHOULD BE REQUIRED VIEWING for generations to come! From slave quarters to Gandy dancers in Europe to Ragtime and Jazz (and the Blues variations and Rockabilly). "What a long strange trip it's been". A generation poised to relegate the music of its elders to the dustbin of yesterday, but hey, "it's gotta good beat, and I can dance to it!"- Any kid on BANDSTSND
@nealbradleigh50692 жыл бұрын
@@The15112005 Thank you, from here. We were sooo messed up from the war, we didn't want ANYTHING to remind us of those years, even the music. Musical styles, such as the BIG BAND ERA were still heard across our radio stations, TV waiting in the wings, and more and more lead singers were cutting recording deals without the bands that made them. This begins the popular, or POP MUSIC era. There were always music styles "borrowed" ftom other subcultures, and this "rockin' and rollin" music was going to be picked up from "that side of town,", cleaned up (could you really have THOSE PEOPLE dancing and making music for your kids?) "whitewashed" by cover bands, and now rock was an acceptable medium.

I'm 19. It seems incredible for me how after years of a destructive war and with fear of nuclear annihilation people still seemed to just enjoy the moment and have fun. I don't know if this is just what nostalgia does, but it just seems like a fulfilling time looking at it from the outside. I would really like to just go back in time for one day and to experience what it was like, though of course I also enjoy living in the present, as every moment is worth living and such events encourage to just live the moment and be optimistic. What power music can have.
