What you don't seem to understand CHILD is that he is speaking from the perspective of an adult old enough to be his son's father speaking negatively about his son. Therefore, as a man, the same age or close to Floyd's age, he is bringing his son to him to have a conversation to find out what the problem is about. It's some thing that is commonly done in black communities when peopleare raised by parents who believe in respecting your elders, and not engaging in disrespectful talk towards them. Therefore, the father will take the son to the elder person, and try to discuss any issues, while making sure that his son who is supposed to show respect in his language, and behavior towards his elders, stays in pocket! Although Ryan has been given permission by his equally foul mouth father, claiming to be a Christian to disrespect his elders, the Haney family still believes in the value of respecting elders, which has been historically taught and black households! That is why black kids who were raised in certain eras don't ever speak to their elders on a first name basis, or dare curse at their parents because they know that is a death sentence! That no longer seems to be as common anymore because the way kids talk to their parents now, and definitely in decades past in some instances, they would never be able to move their lips again!
