SAINT BILL, AKA RANDY PAN GOAT BOY, R.I.P. [53:05] There is a point at all of this. The Revelations (Apocalypse) by Bill Hicks of Valdosta is performance art most sublime. Not completely unlike the biblical encoded book Revelation wrongly attributed to John of Patmos, his message is bittersweet truth wrapped in comic relief that can reach every open-minded, critically thinking, logically reasoning, genuinely feeling, deeply intuiting, human soul on Earth. They get it. In early 1995, his family released a brief essay that Hicks had written a week prior to his death: Excerpts: I was always "awake," I guess you'd say. Some part of me clamoring for new insights and new ways to make the world a better place. All of this came out years down the line, in my multitude of creative interests that are the tools I now bring to the Party. Writing, acting, music, comedy. A deep love of literature and books. Thank God for all the artists who've helped me. ... I left in love, in laughter, and in truth and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit.

Watching this in 1993 changed my life forever. It gave me the courage to say "fuck it. I will make my own bets". I let go of dogma and explored reality. I do consider Bill Hicks a prophet from God... even if I don't think there is a God. He grabbed the archetype of the prophet and of Lucifer bloody Morningstar. He brought us the light. Rest in peace, Saint William.

Love the opening, Bill as a cowboy riding across Tower Bridge to arrive at some post-apocalyptic alleyway with society in ruins, seemingly out of time and place to light a watchfire. Then his entrance through a door seemingly made of volcanic hellfire. Like...the aesthetics and staging of this special are amazing. It's corny, but that's kinda how I like to imagine Bill now, passing through the fire of life and death, sitting by his watchfire in the afterlife, waiting for his next turn on the ride.

He was so in tune with the reality of our times it’s a damn shame we killed one of the good guys-- or cigarettes did... either way, cigarettes are man made so such a shame- but at least he lived and shared his energy with many in a significantly good way-- touched by his light we certainly are -

This man had a dangerous and threatening intellect as far as the government and wealthy are concerned. Maybe that laced his environment with radium.
@kensho7782 жыл бұрын
Bill Hicks never said anything so dangerous or threatening about the government or the wealthy that he would be placed on any watch list or blacklisted. In comparison to Lenny Bruce, who challenged the entire establishment, was placed on government watch lists, and WAS barred from performing at several clubs. Bill had enough 1,3-Butadiene, Arsenic, Benzene, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium, Formaldehyde, Polonium-21, and Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in his surroundings. He didn't require any assistance.

53:20 Stop taking everything so seriously. No one gets out alive, and no matter what kind of legacy we leave, its all going to be erased or forgotten at some point. But thats not a reason to be miserable, its a reason to create your own meaning, drop the ego, and be kind.

YEEEESSSSS!!! It's fucking hilarious when those alt-right, conservative or republican smooth brains (and they do have smooth brains: Americansociety. CDC. Ncbi dot gov, scholar dot google and many more peer reviewed studies show they have underdeveloped amygdala and smooth surface of the brain tissue.) try co-opt george carlin or bill hicks. It's fucking crazy. Like twilight zone episode crazy. The lack of intelligence to deny fact everyday. I mean if we can get them to agree on a super, extremely, easy, elementary subject like 1+1=2. Getting them to accept that transphobia/homophobia, bigotry and racism and religion are wrong. It should be a fucking cakewalk from here on out. Stars, planets and howling singularitys for everyone!
