This guy is so underrated - - - I remember back in the 80s ...90s...how alot of people didn't really give Firehouse credit....they're a vocal band...but no one noticed that Bill Leverty...was probably one of the greatest guitarists back then....right there with Warren from Ratt, and Reb from Winger.....Lynch was another one! ....so much talent back then it's crazy....we have nothing like that today.

Bill is a great guy. I've spoken with him on Twitter, and tagged him in some of his videos I shared. He never fails to say thanks :)

You're wrong about "nothing like that today." There are young kids right now that run circles around DiMartini, Beach, and Lynch. You're just not looking in the right place. Don't get me wrong - I subscribed to Guitar for the Practicing Musician from '88 to '93 which had centerfold posters of all those guys I plastered all over my bedroom walls. You're right about there being crazy talent. But it didn't just end there...
@chrisb2535 Жыл бұрын
@@PerryCodes You're right. There's tons of guys these days that can play almost anything. I think what makes it more impressive for the late 80s / early 90s guys is that there was no internet. You had to go by tab books or magazines, that were often wrong, or just learn by ear. Innovators like Yngwie are even more impressive.

I saw Firehouse in the 90s. I thought they were just "0k". Until a couple of months ago. I started listening to them more closely. And then...Reach for the sky got into my head and I couldn't get rid of it. I didn't know much about the band. I didn't even know their names. Then the lead singer died and I found out his name. CJ was an awesome singer. Rip

9:09 he got that directly from Satriani. Check out the song "Midnight". Satch does exactly that but with diff notes but it's the exact same rhythm and tecnhique. This guy is not only good but he's well rounded and knows his stuff and he seems to have no ego! What happened to these guys? I vaguely remember a few songs but why didn't they blow up? Maybe they didn't sell out and smear makeup on their faces or follow the latest trends?
