@@SiccDeville Crazy right. Kimmel was pretty venomous back then too. I dare say, there were times where Carolla had to yank on Jimmy's leash a bit. It's actually a decent demonstration of how social reinforcement and living in a bubble can alter someone's personality. I am definitely more on the progressive side, just not the pussy-ass variety. I don't love either of these guys all the time but I do think they are a solid duo. Neither one of them is too extreme and they both do a decent job of recalibrating an opinion if someone presents a good point.

Two of my all time favorite personalities together! Been listening to both for years and love their take on so many things, just about everything. When it comes to Bill one of the only areas I find indifference with him on is kids. I am a married, 45 year old Gen Xer with two boys aged 5 and 9. When it comes to Bills thoughts on kids I don't totally disagree with him but as a parent when it comes to trying to convey what it's like to be a parent and be a parent now to someone who doesn't have kids it's almost impossible. You can have your thoughts and ideas and what not but it's an experience like having fought in a war. One example: he talks about the kids ruling the parents and to a point I agree, some parents are complete pushovers. But what you don't realize is that even if your hardcore like me and you have kids like mine it's a constant battle and believe me you're going to give in. And you have too. Another thing is letting the kids just go do there own thing, be back when you hear the six o'clock bell or whatever. Yeah maybe if you live really nice neighborhood or they are a certain age and you know you've taught them to be street smart and what not but where I live which is not a totally horrible neighborhood but with it's half way houses and sex offenders in the area it's not safe and the thought of losing a kid especially to someone that will do horrible things to them (Jacob Wetterling was abducted 15 miles from where I live). It's a tough game and it doesn't take much to Being a parent for me is about being the one in charge but not to the point of being completely inflexible, allowing them freedom yet keeping them safe, etc. Again I love Bill but I just don't think he quite gets what it like to raise kids especially in this time and place.

Snoopy/Peanuts spent i’s first few decades as a comic strip with subtle and insightful commentary. I think that’s the Snoopy bill learned to like. It was one of the first clever comic strips that mixed deep human truths with something kids could enjoy. That’s a far cry from Speedy Gozales or Flintstones. Those are cartoons. Mindless bubblegum for kids.

So awesome that Maher is doing shows like this and Ben Shapiro. Why should anybody care what Ben shapiro thinks about transgenders? He doesn't know anything about that. He's not an expert and has never studied it so his opinion is about as worthless as the average Joe on a bar stool. Same goes for everything else he talks about except maybe law and playing the violin. Those are, to my knowledge, the only things he has actually studied and is credentialed in. The guy has never even had a job. Hes been blogging since he was like 15. Processed foods are advertised more heavily than unprocessed foods. Beverages that will make people fat are obviously pushed a lot harder than water or coffee. The government has subsidized carbs over fat and protein for decades. You are correct that this encouragement doesn’t come in the form of words, but the environment that has been out before people. It is an environment that creates fat people.
