The fundamental problem with it is democracy is not truthful nor the most moral/right system. The fetus age makes entire sense as it takes time to develop. Compare an 8 week fetus to a 25 week one and there is a clear and discernible difference. Aborting a late term pregnancy that _isn't_ a medical emergency is murder - there's a heartbeat, they can react to the world outside the womb, they appear as an entire baby, etc. Halting a pregnancy immediately after a missed period without delay isn'tthe same as a late term abortion in terms of what's acceptable. Age limits appear to regulate maturity. Buying guns, getting tattoos, drinking alcohol, driving cars, etc. employ age limits to determine acceptability.

I hate abortion with all my heart and wish it was illegal. I wish people would recognize it is murder and evil so a law is unnecessary. But it isn't. I've heard a lot of people both conservatives and progressives saying the reason the conservatives to fared so poorly in the last midterm elections was fear of losing the right to have abortions and I have to agree. There are so many reasons we (conservatives) need to capture both houses and the White House. In my opinion the chance of losing this solely on the abortion issue is too great a risk. It's sad but a pullback on the abortion issue is necesssary at this time. Get both houses and the President first then educate and pray people turn their backs on abortion. I think it's the smart way.
