Wendy Williams told a Cosby story on her talk show a few years back. She said that back in the 90's when she was reading tabloid headlines about Cosby on her radio show, he heard and called her station manager to complain. She got called into her manager's office and Cosby, on speakerphone, called her every name and read her up and down for talking about him on the radio. She said she knew then that they had to be true.

Maher isn’t big on moralism, especially family values moralism which was Cosby’s entire schtick. He sees the same thing most sensible people do. It’s fake. Moralism is a mask people wear for the public, so Cosby being a monster under that mask was fitting.

It's a shame he didn't bring up the drugging and raping...that would have been a useful, actionable opinion. Agreed. I liked The Cosby Show because of how groundbreaking it was in it's presentation of an upper-middle-class nuclear African-American family(and not only were both parents in the home but one was a doctor and the other was a lawyer)but I don't know that I ever personally liked Bill Cosby, himself or that I ever found him to be that funny. And also, the condescending attitude towards younger black comics, like how he lectured Eddie Murphy about using profanity in his jokes and talking down to black people with his infamous speech back in 2004 just made me look at him in a completely different light. Also, there he was preaching morality and lecturing people on how he thinks they should speak and behave when he's out there drugging and raping women.

My Cosby story. I did open mike back in the 90s. There was a guy folks called The Ghost. Deadly funny, but only came out every 6 months or so. They locked 12 of us in the club hours before a show, for some reason. We all gathered on stage, with drinks. Ghost had his hand covering his cup. Someoneone said "relax , Cosby's not here". We all asked wtf? And he told us the story. An old working comic said" you never heard that if you want to work here again". Club owners protected him. I lost interest in comedy about then.

In the 1980's... I used to walk past Bill crossing the street in front of Children's Hospital (Boston), on his regular visit to see a black psychologist that was the consultant for the Cosby Show. I wonder what Dr. Poussaint thinks of Bill now or maybe he knew about it all?

I love it when comedians take 2 minutes to set up a punchline; if done well and if they can hide the joke until its coming, that will make me cry from laughter. Or even better, just good stories with well placed exaggerations like Richard Pryor's Mafia Story. The rapid-fire jokes don't really do that for me; but each his own I guess :)
