theking24 You're right that people should be able to take a joke. However, on the subject of Bill Cosby, it is worth pointing out that the media and self-promoting celebrities are hurling McCarthyistic assaults at Bill Cosby while being silent on Bill Clinton, whose alleged sexual assault history is as follows: Juanita Broaddrick - said that she was raped by Clinton. Eileen Wellstone - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. Carolyn Moffet - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. Elizabeth Ward, Miss America 1982 - said she was raped by Clinton. Sandra Allen James - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. Christy Zercher - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. Kathleen Willey - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. 22-year old Yale student (unidentified) - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. Female student at University of Arkansas (unidentified) - said that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton. Why are the people who profess to assault Cosby out of a concern for alleged victims silent on Clinton? The media and self-promoting celebrities’ “concern” for alleged sexual assault victims is not victim-based, but accused-based. That is their concern is contingent upon who is accused. Source: Bill Clinton’s long history of sexual violence. By Daniel J. Harris and Teresa Hampton. June 21, 2004. Capitol Hill Blue.
@captainpungent9 жыл бұрын
JugglingFor ACure Just because Bill Clinton is a douchebag too doesn't mean Bill Cosby deserves a pass. From what I remember Clinton was (nearly) impeached because of his scandals. "McCarthyistic assaults?" Why? Because it was unveiled that Cosby is a total creep because of his own words? What evidence do you have he's innocent? I find it funny you trust that Clinton is a rapist but totally deny Cosby could be. Yes, I've read your posts on Huffington Post and they're all in defense of poor Bill Cosby.

I loved Bill Maher's documentary "Religulous" I thought it was very enlightening and very funny. His humor is fearless and I appreciate that. He doesn't have to create the comedy in his shows. It just presents itself as the blind, stupid, American population. He only has to turn on the mic and hand it to the people on the street and then you simply must agree with Bill that the general population in America seems to be oblivious idiots.

The 'grabby grabby' line was a little strange. If you go based on his tone, it did make it sound like he was minimizing the situation. However, he also did say that if Michael did that it was wrong and a crime. So overall, you probably gotta let that one slide even though it was a little questionable.

One last comment. Bill, when you are "accusing" Michael Jackson or talking about the two accusers perhaps you should remind people that the accuser in 2003 (resulting in that joke of a trial) and his crazy mother were almost laughed out of court. There was not a shred of evidence against Michael and he was acquitted on ALL 14 charges. Don't you think you should mention that Bill so that ignorant people out there don't think that Michael hurt that kid? The first accuser in 1993 and his father asked for 20 million dollars to fund four screenplays because the father wanted to be a screenwriter. Michael refused. Next thing you know they were accusing Michael of abuse. By the way, the father (Evan Chandler) is on a tape recording saying he was going to ruin Michael's life if he didn't get that $20 million. Then ten years went by and the crazy Arviso family comes along and accuses Michael. Meanwhile they already made about $150,000.00 when they accused J.C. Penny department store's security guards of "sexual abuse". That's right folks this family was already successful in lying about sexual assault before they ever met Michael. Then they met Michael and they saw their biggest payday yet. If you have any questions, let me know.

ann landers If I recall MJ wanted to fight the 93 case but his insurance company wanted none of it and wanted him to make a new album and do a new tour?
@annlanders97810 жыл бұрын
jdg20042001 Yes, that is correct. Michael wanted to fight those 1993 allegations (Chandler family) but he was in the middle of a world tour and his advisors and insurance company wanted him to just make the payment and get on with the business of MAKING MONEY. That settlement was one of the biggest mistakes Michael made in his life and he knew it. It opened the door for people like the Arvizos to come out and accuse him expecting that he would pay them off as well.

Wtf he's talking about? So the sheer number of accusers make it more likely that the assaults took place. It is a fallacious argument. Firstly, the context in which every incident takes place has its own dynamic and should be evaluated within that parameter. Secondly, the powerful lure of financial gains make it more likely that copycat operatives would emerge to further cloud the issue. Thirdly, in the absence of a trial that will lay out all the facts and balance out the contending arguments, a determination of guilt is outright preposterous. Lastly, trying a case in the court of public opinion does great injutice to the administration of justice. We should tread carefully.

"Nobody remembers the part where [Cosby's accuser's] were discredited?" Like hell. Bruce Castor, the prosecutor of the case Cosby settled out of court, admits himself he had "NO EVIDENCE." As for our "not having a number high enough" to account for Cosby's alleged victims, just suppose that 1 in 5 have come forward (a ridiculously low estimate): That would mean that Cosby serial-raped over 100 women, took no precautions whatsoever against being caught, left PLENTY of evidence - and in each instance, his victims got rid of the evidence for him. As for there having to be a fire wherever there's smoke - that holds true (most of the time) for smoke, but things work differently with words. All I see here is a celebrity winning audience approval. Some of it was pretty funny. Most of it was sickening.

So he says for the Woody Allen situation it was his ex wife who hates him so its unlikely. And then it seems Bill Maher, the very person who put forward this theory, who hates Cosby as a comedian and has arguments about him being bad as a comedian with his friends is suspicious of him being guilty and says the accusers have no agenda outright? It seems as though him hating him as a comedian fuels him up atleast a little bit in his arguments. Im just makin an observation from the video alone. I dont even know the issue in detail. Am I wrong?
@seanfinn104610 жыл бұрын
I think you're right, and I'd think Bill Maher would agree with you.
@milok24449 жыл бұрын
Karthik Nair I think you're wrong. The Woody Allen accusations came from someone who hated him. Bill Maher isn't the one accusing Bill Cosby, so whether or not he hates him (which he doesn't, he just said he didn't like his comedy.) has nothing to do with the accusations. But Bill Maher's an unfunny jackass, so who cares?

The first accuser Jordan Chandler signed an agreement in which Michael Jackson DENIED ANY SEXUAL ABUSE PERPETRATED BY HIM, the kid and his family preferred the money than accuse MJ criminally (The civil settlement didn't avoid them to sue MJ); the second accuser Jason Francia also signed a similar to JC's, but he and his mother Bianca were disacredited by Thomas Mesereau (MJ's attorney); the third accuser Gavin Arvizo and his family were also disacredited by Thomas Mesereau. Wade Robson and James Safeschuck were dismissed.
