If the religious communities were to fully embrace climate change and the threat it poses to all life and humanity, and then add their voices to the climate movement, we'd reach the critical mass for real, meaningful action in a heartbeat!!

As Arrhenius showed in 1896, water vapour and CO2 are both greenhouse gases. You're right that there's a lot more water vapour in the air than CO2; I don't think anyone disputes that. The thing about CO2 is that we're adding it to the atmosphere faster than plants can take it up, so we're increasing the contribution it makes.

Let US get to work . . . that means you, an individual, right now where you are reading this MUST do something different. . . just DO IT, make an effort to put something (eg Mother Earth) before your own self. . . not convenient to stop driving so much? SO WHAT - just do it. . . when the roads are washed out or the air so polluted you will certainly stop - or be stopped. WHY NOT BE SMART about this and take CONTROL of your own future by doing what you know is the RIGHT thing to do. . . .

Not only do corporations and oil companies lobby the government and put money in our politics. But so do environmental groups. They to invest millions lobbying congress.

+Operation Pravda The oil companies outspend citizens and environmental groups by 100 to 1 though. What are we supposed to do?

I agree with Chris. It does no one any good to alienate the religious community, via name calling and belittling.

you know what breaks my heart every year? Christmas. Why do we celebrate the Birth of Christ, the Saviour of Life, with the callous and selfish murder of millions of young lives...the best carbon sequester units ever invented on earth, no surprise we only offer generations of beautiful pine trees DEATH as our only observable expression of appreciation for the tree whose life we take without thinking, without a wisp of awareness of the kind of monster we must be to every other kind of living entity on earth, for we value life the least of all animals that we arrogantly refer to as "beasts". Even our beloved pets can easily be recategorized as being "just an animal" the moment that pet stands in the way of a big promotion or great romance. The truth of this tragedy can be found in every american township that houses an animal shelter, which more accurately should be called the Auschwitz for Animals.

Matthew, this is disgraceful. If we can't be civil and nice to each other, then we have really lost it. If you can't be nice then keep your horrid thought to yourself.
