"They got robots in factories putting cars together. I don't think it's smart. I don't think it's funny." This is the most hilarious video I've seen in a while. I seriously couldn't control my laughter. This is GOLD.

The amataur, reality feel of the video with the old cars and young Bill Murray makes it easy to feel like you're really there and at that time. Watching that video makes me feel like I could walk off into 1982 and go around like a time tourist and eat something at a restaurant there.

...like the kind we had in the old rock music days...[Bill murray on the presence and feedback from the amplifiers on set]. BTW this was filmed shortly after he wrapped "Where the Buffalo Roam". So,naturally he was completely twisted on high- test narcotics, stank weed and,I surmise monolithian quantities of expensive booze. He truly absorbed himself into the role of HST. Brilliant channel, one which warrants immediate subscription.

It's hard work being Bill Murray, but it's a good thing he can do it nobody else could. Could you see a robot Bill Murray complete with a jaw that drops when it talks and makes everybody laugh. The first take was the best one because I thought it was really him ranting.

First take was the best. Almost like he was improving and talking from the heart, and then the second time he was just repeating what he said.

I read that "loose shoes" was filmed in 77 and released later in the 80's after he became a movie star. I've never seen it though.( Man, how many of those "Groove Tube" style movies got made anyway!? )nutty as early murray could be I really never thought he seemed that out of it or crazy in "Stripes" and by the time "ghostbusers" and "The Razors Edge" came out he already had that quiet dignity about him that he carries to this day.

the interview was shot in the west village, new york. I know this because i live there. few fun facts: the cylindrical brown building in the back is a hotel that was used as a place of refuge for titanic vicims. you will see a big smoke stack on the right of bill murray in a few of the shots (more in the middle of the clip) that was an ink factory that was just demolished this year. pretty cool thang too.

@hobogasm The way you wrote it gave all importance to the thumb in getting human technology off the ground. Boredom and a better way nature is what drove it. I can't see an octopus working with electricity but they sure can rip your gear apart. This rant of Bills, was for a movie promotion?
