Great interview that by the most talented musician most people have never heard of . You can see how intelligent Bill Nelson is and I found myself hanging on his every word . The final minute of the interview is the most important though . He says that for his own idealistic reasons he decided he’d had enough of doing what the audiences liked and loved (playing that guitar so brilliantly with Be Bop Deluxe ) and he wanted to explore other areas . I wonder if he realised at the time that he was probably throwing away multi millions.

@chanterlands8 жыл бұрын
+syncro16se Kiss Of Light is from the Be Bop Deluxe album 'Modern Music'. If I were you I would invest in all the Be Bop Deluxe albums and I guarantee you will not regret it. There are only five studio and one live album, I really envy you hearing them for the first time. If you were to twist my arm and say which are the best, I'd say 'Sunburst Finish', 'Modern Music' and 'Live In The Air Age', but the other three are great too. I hope you invest. Incidentally, if you check on Amazon you can get a box set of all the studio albums for about fifteen pounds!

+syncro16se I would agree with Chanterlands that all of the BBD albums were brilliant and well worth getting, although they are a bit more rocky than Quit Dreaming. A great 'mini' album of 6 tracks called 'Chimera' released soon after Quit Dreaming would be of similar style. Either way you've got to get the BBD classic 'Modern Music' album. You'll never look back. Good luck and happy listening.

What Bill says at 14:00 about the music industry was so amazingly correct. The path he was talking about hit the buffers about 20 years ago and the ‘Satan’ who floated to the top of the scum is no other than...............Simon Cowell. Satan indeed. A man with no talent, either musical, vocal,dance,lyricism........NOTHING. The only thing he is interested in is the next pretty thing/s who he can make money off, selling shit music to children and young adults, then dropping them like a hot potato when the sales drop and the money stops coming in. He has not developed one talented artist in his whole ‘career’. The man is a cancer. I think Elton John said something similar a few years ago about Cowell.
