I remember in 70s as kid, kids and adults loved The Goodies. They were one of the top shows. And the cat sketch is a classic. 😂😂😂
@EamonThePhilogynistWalford6 ай бұрын
You're referring to Kitten Kong, of course. The episode so nice, they effectively made it twice. 🙂 As for Bill Oddie, he's had many bouts of depression over the years, and he might actually be bipolar too. And while it might not excuse some of his abrasive behaviour towards fans, it does explain it to a degree. 🤔

Remember bill from the goodies and before that in a radio program called I'm sorry I'll read that again. He was a comedian of his time and enjoyed watching and listen to him.
@TeddyBoy1962 Жыл бұрын
Before the comedy career, he also released a few records on Parlophone and Decca (followed by others) starting in 1964 with a "protest" song berating the damage/vandalism done my Mods & Rockers when they clashed in (mainly) seaside towns. This was titled; "nothing better to do". A later release and arguably his best was; " I cant get through" in which his vocals sound not unlike Gene Pitney. It had a "big sound" backing.

He was always the least funny goodie. Saw them all at a charity football match in the ‘70’s. Tim and Graham both stopped to give autographs to us kids after but Bill walked, or rather stomped away looking really pissed, didn’t say a word just got in his car. Miserable sod.

I also had an unfortunate experience with him on Euston Station a number of years ago. He bowled up to me at right angles and just shoved me out of his way. No acknowledgement that I even existed. Ignorant in the extreme. He's been Bill Odious as far as I'm concerned ever since.

How upsetting, he needs to remember its the viewing public that put him where he is. Personally I'm not keen on him at all, his voice irritates and I never thought the Goodies were funny, just 'filler'. Only my own personal opinion.

I recall meeting the Goodies and Oddie ( small guy! ) in Kings Lynn ,Norfoklk way way back in the early 70's... they wanted to make a show whereby excavators had taken over the world and were fighting.. my friend was head of Orenstein and Koppel at the time and they filmed in a quarry with their excavation equipment.. funny at the time but probably dated by now.... seemed a little introvert to me back then... haha...

I never found 'The Goodies' remotely entertaining, let alone funny. Silent movie style slapstick mingled with forced zany childish antics simply leave me with a mixture of cringe and embarrassment, much like watching circus clowns. Don't even get me started on overtly contrived 'look at me I'm a jolly little chap' Bill Noddy.🥱🤮 Jus' sayin'
