BUT AFTER DURANT COUSINS LEFT KLAY INJURED HE TURNS INTO TRIPLE SINGLE. I LIKE RUSSELL DEFENSE SPEED BUT TO SAY HOW HE IS GOAT CAUSE OF RINGS THAT MEAN IGUODALA >>> OVER MCGRADY TMAC IS BEAST BUT IGGY HAVE 3 RINGS + FINAL MVP. STILL MCGRADY IS GOD JUST LIKE WILT

AS HIGH AS TO 13 TIMES A SEASON...THERE WERE ALMOST NO FILLER GAMES WHERE WILT COULD STAT PAD...THE HOF TALENT BACK THEN ARE ,IMO, JUST AS ATHLETIC, JUST AS SMART, JUST AS SKILLED(relative to what the rules allowed them to do) AS MODERN DAY HOFers ALL STARS AND OTHERS: Dennis Awtrey: 6'11" Tom Boerwinkle: 7'0" Nate Bowmen: 6'11" Mel Counts: 7'0" Walter Dukes: 7'0" Jim Eakins: 6'11" Ray Felix: 6'11" Hank Finkel: 7'0" Swede Halbrook: 7'3" Reggie Harding: 7'0" Jim McDaniels: 6'11" Otto Moore: 6'11" Dave Newmark: 7'0" Rich Niemann: 7'0" Billy Paultz: 6'11" Craig Raymond: 6'11" Elmore Smith: 7'0" Chuck Share: 6'11" Ronald Taylor: 7'1" Walt Wesley: 6'11" TOM PAYNE 7'2 " GREG FILLMORE 7'1 CRAIG SPITZER 7'0 LARUE MARTIN 6'11 VIC BARTOLOME 7'0 GEORGE JOHNSON 6'11 WILLIAM SMITH 7'0 Notice how many 7ft players there were for a league with only 9 teams. This is because players had to be rotated out to match Wilt's 46 mpg career average both offensively and defensively. Teams would sometimes try to overload on the defensive end with multiple 6’10” players double or even triple team Wilt. Almost every team throughout Wilt Chamberlain's career had some version of this method.

@@12savage68 Yeah but whenever Jordan fans want to argue in the GOAT debate they always pull up 6 > 4 without context 🙄 But with Bill Russell they always want to pull up context cause it counters the 6-0 argument. Plus I literally spoke to fans who called Phil Jackson just a bum coach and was lucky to get stars to coach for. Like the f*ck? 😂 Even Shaq himself, Kobe, and Jordan, all praised Phil for his strategies and mentorship. And when they didnt listen to him they screwed up. Sometimes the success of a player in court is highly dependent on the coach's plan for that player, the plays the team practices. Unfortunately Lebron just never had a Phil Jackson level coach that wasn't a rookie. Cause even Spoelstra or Ty Lue were rookie coaches when they were with Lebron. Which is why Lebron actually became friends with Pop and had to learn to be a coach himself.

Sweet, a new video! Russell gets so much disrespect from modern fans. If something happens once, it could be a fluke, if it happens a few times, there might be something there that isn’t being addressed, if it happens ELEVEN times in a thirteen year career, EIGHT times in a row, it makes me think Red still might be the only person who knew just how good Russell was.

Uneducated people usually say that Russell had 8 hof on his team. I think Bob Cousy played only 6 years with Russell & Cousy played only 1 year with Havlicek. Bill Russell was champion in high school, in college, & NBA. Russell is overall the best of the best based on winning. Russell great teammate, basically the best rebounder/ blocker/ defender. When Russell blocked shots the ball would go to a teammate, when Russell rebounded he would make outlet passes that produced lots of fast break points ,( which doesn't show up in the assists department). Russell was basically the fastest center in the history of basketball he could be on both sides of the court if needed for 40 minutes. Russell dominated the paint ,players like MJ that have to get most thier points from inside the paint would be completely contained by Russell genius basketball ability.

Pure volume scoring and being a good FT shooter are the only things he did not do at an elite level. His passing is underrated he was an elite passer for a center. Finding the open man and facilitating the fast break he did very well. His FG% was actually a little over league average for his era (105% better). We all know he was an NBA MT. Rushmore rebounder and on that for defensive anchor if not the flat out best defensive anchor ever. The FT shooting is the only thing I can say is a negative really. His team did not need him to be a high volume scorer as Boston employed more of an equal opportunity offense with shot distribution. He allowed the offensive talents around him to flourish while he made sure their defense was always the best in the league. He actually lead the Celtics in finals scoring for 3 of their titles when they needed it from him. Not to mention his leadership and ability to mesh with teammates. Which is hard to measure with stats but by all documented accounts and by how the team performed with vs without him it was clear his leadership had a high impact. He was the actual coach while still playing for the last 2 rings only a great leader could pull that off.

What a great set of highlights! It shows that Bill Russell had the skill, smarts, tenacity, and athletic ability to transcend any era of NBA play and be dominant. RIP to a true legend!

Most human beings just do not understand what type of absurd mentality it takes to succeed at the level that Bill Russell succeeded at. People try and bring up how many teams in the league there were, or what his scoring stats were, or whatever. They don't get it. At the highest levels of competition it comes down to a battle wills, and no mans will was more indomitable than Mr. Bill Russell's. I'm a lifelong Chicagoan who grew up in the 90's watching MJ and I will always love and respect MJ and Pip, but Russell is the most important athlete in the history of professional basketball imo.

I’m sick of fans disrespecting Bill Russell, Wilt, and other greats from that era. The GREATS would be great in any era, period.

I pretty much know nothing about basketball, I was thinking about Michael Jordan and his 6 rings I was wondering if there were guys who had more.. and this guy.. 11?!? That’s so unreal.. like how many people have 11 championship wins in anything?? Very few… but here I am learning that he died, super sad, but he left behind an insane legacy.
