The way Carlisle moronically used Mathurin (not starting him) aside he still shoulda of been honorable mention for his highs as 20 year old rookie. Also while I wanted my Pacers to draft Booker over Turner in 2015 and wanted 27/29 unprotected Lakers 1s for him/Hield bc they’re dumpster fire possibly post LeBron/AD and it helped us double Wemby odds and start force Carlisle 2 start Mathurin, BUT Turner on great contract not being mentioned HM top65 at all was kinda amateur hour. Mobley I like but he’s too high, LeBron (not shocking as LeBron owned one Bill’s team more then any athlete ever knocking then out 5X 2011-18 including 3 ECF, 3 of which Celtics could close at home in 6/7….then LeBron went to hated lakers and was Finals MVP for them in 2020 + good WCF run after 2-10 start) at 40 embarrassing as he was inarguably Top7-15 best player last year, averaged 25, 10, 7 on 50% in playoffs, averaged 28 10 10 52Fg% in WCF, was God tier December to February pre foot injury (injuries and age knock him down I get but still). Chet too high, KD (all timer but 35 & 8 months when playoffs start with injury history) too high. I love how House calls out Bill on many of his trash rankings/takes more then anyone. Bill is a legend in the space (even as annoying homer and LeBron hate since he owned his team 11-18 then went to hated lakers, plus underrates Reggie Miller who has 16th most won shares including playoffs when everyone 1-25 around him is an all time legend or legend), but he’s at his best interviewing all time greats or talking with ppl who actually debate with him.

@@tonyschimmoeller he was literally just a top5-7 NBA player from late December to late February (33, 9, 8 good efficiency) and 28 10 10 52 FG% on bad foot in WCF which was better then Durant & Butler Vs Nuggets. Yes age/injuries worry you, but injuries worry you with many players and LeBron is an alien who is still top5-20 range player in NBA period. He prob makes 2nd team all nba last year had he played all year and LeBron Luka Durant Curry the only 4 in NBA to avg 26 6 6 on the efficiency they did this year. If the Clippers had told Kawhi that they couldn't accommodate the Paul George trade I say he would have signed with them anyway. Or better yet still he wouldn't have. I've never understood everyone saying you have to do that every time. Or that Brooklyn had to make the Harden trade. These kinds of trades are loaded with risk and even if they deliver a title that's still a long time in the wilderness after those guys age out.

Sure, going all in and having it blow up in your face does leave you screwed. But a title is never guaranteed and hoarding draft picks and hoping isn't a bulletproof strategy either (ie Philly). Franchises owe it to fans to try and go all in if they think they are a piece away from winning a title. Fans are smart enough to understand the risk, and are usually (depending on the player) supportive of the effort.
@Bewbscueser
@Bewbscueser Жыл бұрын
@@Weaponator18 I totally agree that trading for a superstar is a perfectly viable team building strategy. I also agree that most fan bases are energized .by such deals. My point is specifically referring to the Clippers deal for Paul George and the Nets deal for Harden. I just feel like both franchises gave up too much. I point to these deals because they both had a chance to have their cake and eat it too. As I mentioned I think the Clippers would have landed Kawhi without the PG trade and Brooklyn got Durant and Kyrie in free agency without giving up any assets. Given a choice of having Kawhi come onboard with their assets intact or bringing in Kawhi and PG with very few assets moving forward I personally would not have made that deal. That was my opinion when it happened. I realize I'm probably more risk averse than just about anyone but the opportunity cost of such a deal backfiring is a franchise in the wilderness for a decade. Most people would take that risk i'm just not one of them. I feel like people lose sight of the fact that basketball is an entertainment product first and foremost and while winning a title is the pinnacle for NBA franchises it's not something that makes people's lives objectively better in any material way. Also one of these kinds of trades going sideways precludes a team from having any kind of entertainment value for a long time. I realize this is very much a minority opinion and at some point I might have to take the L and admit I was wrong but for now it's how I see things and it's how I'd run my pretend NBA front office.

Luka as a trade asset is absolutely ignorant. Tatum is the only top 6 mentioned that can actually be moved. I think Tatums value is so high and Jas is so low they could do Tatum and Brogdon for Ja and JJJ. That would be filthy for both squads. But no team can trade for the rest of those top 5 without giving up a current young superstar plus loads of other work. This is the time Memphis and New Orleans should look to move their franchise faces, both teams win without them and neither player is showing consistency on the court while both also now have character concerns. Still get a lot of value for both guys and both teams are ready to win so the right move can set them up for huge success.

He was taking the pathetic squad last year to the 4/5th seed until Nico brought in Kyrie and they plummeted. He only needs quality nba players he doesn’t need superstars and top 10 guys. Right now there’s about 10 mavericks that should be fighting for their spot in the league right now with how useless they play.
