Bill - just IMO but Zazlov made Discovery a boatload of money by having relatively inexpensive content on their channels. Sports rights now are SO expensive that they do not make sense from a pure economic perspective. As cord cutting continues - we will see if ESPN can remain an economically viable entity spending what they do for sports rights. Because as NBA ratings continue to tank due to variety of reasons, it's hard to understand how the underlying economics make sense economically.

If this comment is true that part of his “genius” is the ability to calculate when he does not think he or his team can win, the fact he would ever resign to that calculation is why he will never pass Jordan. I’m sure when Jordan played with the wizards he knew their chances of winning were slim. But he never allowed that to impact how he played. He played 60 games in his first year there and fought until his injury sidelined him for the last 22 games. Then he played all 82 games the second year and fought all the way.
