Why did Villanelle want Bill to follow her? Will the outcome of their confrontation change Eve?
@nicoleboger96332 жыл бұрын
I think this definitely changed Eve, but Bill should have never followed Villanelle.
@StefanThiesen10 ай бұрын
@@nicoleboger9633 Agreed. Bill was reckless. He had been out of the field for quite some time and was over 60 years old --- and not a very fit 60+ judging from how he earlier struggled carrying his baby. He suspected "the girl" he followed to be Villanelle, so he knew she potentially was one of the most dangerous human beings on the planet. It basically was suicide, and he realized that he grossly misjudged the situation when V turned around and gave him her most predatory smile (underscored by a lioness growl). Maybe Pheobe Waller Bridge wanted to make the point that men still tend to underestimate women? And both actors played the scene masterfully. Think of Bill -- one moment he gleefully followed his target, until she turned around and he became the target. How his face changed and he said in German "Oh Scheisse!" He knew in that moment that his life was over. I love the scene because it is an example of a situation that literally within a second is completely turned upside down.Excellent writing, excellent acting, excellent filming, lighting, you name it. Also on the side of Sandra Oh.

Season 1 was so genius!! Villanelle was both, scary and lovable at the same time.. she was so ambitious and skilled too. The entire plot was so smart, unique and fascinating. I wish Phoebe was the lead writer for all of the seasons!!

@@droogs8826 Season 2 and 3 weren't great either but they had their moments. Season 1 was amazing and yeah I guess Phoebe was a big factor in that. Imagine if Phoebe was lead writer for all four seasons. It would've been a different show.

I never understood what he thought he could do there...like why would he follow an assassin on his own, unarmed?
@jessielohman2763 Жыл бұрын
I think he thought the complete opposite of Villanelle's intentions, but he should of known. Thinking he was outsmarting her? wow. She wanted him in a crowded place, he wanted her in a crowded place, but for different reasons. I think he wanted to arrest her or have her arrested. But a club was a terrible call. I think when he found himself sifting through drunkards and drugged out people (along with her smile) he turned back. I would of done the same.

Season one was the best. The succeeding seasons didn't live up to it. Phoebe being lead writer in season one was a big factor in it's success as was the shows novelty. I loved the cat and mouse game. I preferred Villanelle as the physco glam assassin chased by unconventional detective Eve. Never bought into them as lovers tbh
@sadkeo_2 жыл бұрын
I mean I saw them as somewhat lovers but in the most toxic of ways, as eve and villanelles 'love' was just a matter of toxic obsession for the other. Eve's obsession comes from her desire to branch away from the mundane normal life that she has, that's why she pursued Villanelle despite her life literally crumbling apart and losing the only people that care for her. For Villanelle it came up to her sociopathy and that she believed that Eve made her feel deeper emotion or it could honestly be that she craves attention and validation for her actions. As Villanelles kills became more decorative and extravagant throughout the series (until s4) gaining Eve's interest.

@@Shane-Flanagan they were never going to be able to live happily cause they’re love isn’t built upon healthy things. It sprung from an obsession to find the other and then morphed into something more. They could never have worked out but that was the point
