I have yet to see NASCAR, NASCAR on NBC, Toby Christie make 1 mention about Bill Weber. Kind of sad really for a guy who was with TNN, ESPN, NBC/TNT. Yes, towards the end of his run, his hot takes were often questionable and his monologues were sometimes filled with controversial statements, but some sort of tribute would have been fitting.

Nascar: Horrors! Extremely consistent drivers could win a championship without winning a race! Also Nascar: Creates a championship system where a driver can win 20 races and still lose to a driver with 0 wins. RIP Bill Weber, he is a legend and announced many of the races of my childhood. I'm glad to see Nascar returning to The Rock. If the Cup series ever races there, I may actually watch 2 races in a Nascar season.

With regards to Rockingham, have we heard any feedback on how the racing surface performed with the Xfinity/Trucks? The old pavement was brutal on tires, but there were at least two distinct grooves around that place. I’d be concerned that with a newer surface and the addition of SAFER barriers, those lines could be altered enough that the Rock turns into new Iowa.

They should just go back to the original version of the chase. It seemed to work just fine. Also, one race alone should not determine a driver championship. At least make the final round three races, and push the playoffs back a couple of weeks.

There are multiple issues with the playoff format, but obviously the major one is the ridiculous winner take all single race. A three race series would be good, but they have to have a mix of tracks. Oh, and I love the Red Bull tweak on logos.

I’m all for a 3-race showdown at the end of the season. But not to determine the championship. Racing is a competition between a field of participants. The dominant over the season is the season’s champion, not a make believe lottery-like fake championship determination where a driver eliminated from ‘the chase’ (sic) wins the fake championship.
@CriticalNuance8 күн бұрын
I love the playoffs but I am in favor of a 3 race final with rotating tracks for the last race. Larson's comments do sound like cry baby sour grapes though. Blaney/Penske didn't win his championship race. Ross Chastain did. As a matter of fact Ross almost won the race in '22 also. My point is other teams can get it done. The rules are the same for everyone. Also Larson didn't even make the final 4 last year. Work on that before crying that no one can beat Penske. I'm not a Larson hater... I'm just saying, act like the greatest driver on the planet if that's what you think.

@williamgreen61798 күн бұрын
Just say it; the Nascar Championship last race format has become a Joke. I don't get excited in a good way. Nascar pisses me off with their refusal to change the format back to the old points before they changed it to prevent Jimmy from winning it again. Nascar is now based upon luck and not Merit. Real Nascar fans don't want drivers getting lucky and sneaking into the finial four. Penske is the only team that is great at Phoenix. Penske sucks for most of the season and some how they manage to win a race to get into the finial four. No more 16th place average driver to win the Championship. Larson would of won based on old point system.
@johnhaas25238 күн бұрын
It's never going back to based on points. NASCAR is in the entertainment business that's where the money is everybody is required to like it and shut the f****** permanently You have to like everything that is good for entertainment. Look at the scoring lines the playoffs make and the drama

😂 I agree with Kyle Larson they need to fix it so that he can win more championships cuz he didn't even make the championship and to hear him cry about the the Penske cars winning all the Championships well maybe he should build a faster race car after all they do have the most money of any team maybe he should not have so many wrecks that take himself out like he did in 2024 and maybe his ego is just a little bit bigger than his driving ability good God Kyle why are we even interviewing him why wouldn't we interview Joey Logano who won the championship last year like it or not Penske has built a great racing team year after year they perform you don't just do that with luck I guess NASCAR is just all about Kyle Larson I know I'm tired of hearing him but I forgot he's the best race car driver that ever drove a race car he's even better than Max verstappen what a blow hard can't stand him
