When you and others talk about crowd noise, all I can think about is the fact that my favorite clips of races, whether it's NASCAR or your local short tracks, the video that fans post of races HEAVILY include the loud noise coming from the crowd! Even several years ago when TV would include the sounds of the fans, not just during the last lap, but whenever something great happened, you heard the crowd, and that helped YOU get into it even more!

I have a theory on Fox. They use NASCAR as a development program for amateur crew members to eventually take over spots in other sports like football. Okay hear me out about the "Clash". We bring back Speedweeks, you can do New Smyrna, Valdosta speedway, and then the Clash at Daytona. So you do all the stuff they did this weekend over Smyrna and Valdosta (order doesn't matter), and then we the Clash back at Daytona for the POLE WINNERS! It mixes old and new. I think this is a great idea, and I'm not an "old head" I'm just a 32 year old that loves short track racing and the clash at Daytona. Maybe we pull a couple races off the schedule and do this. IDK. I'm just brain storming over here.
@Yellawood23Сағат бұрын

Glad to hear that the race was well received, but no surprisedbecause when it was all over, I felt satisfied. I'll just say up front that I enjoyed the project of bringing the show to LA. The Coliseum made for great imagery, and I liked how they made a show of it. The racing wasn't as good in LA, but I still had fun, especially with it being an exhibition race. With that said, after last years major rain almost ruining the weekend, and this year with the fires, it ended up being good timing that they moved it to Bowman Gray. I thought the racing was very good. Blaney's drive from the back to racing for the lead with almost no damage on his car was impressive. Not much to add that wasn't covered by the video aside from one broader point. We just saw a legitimately good short track race(super short track, really) with the Gen 7 car. And the track was half the size of a normal short track and flat, so figure that one out. And the Fox booth was pretty decent. Mike Joy sounds refreshed, while Harvick and Bowyer focused on the race instead of taking shots at each other, which I bet was a producer's idea last year.

@Eagleracer38x4 сағат бұрын
Dude, this race was really good! I was waiting for a very late yellow to spice up the ending artificially, but NASCAR didn't do it. Did they really learn their lesson around the end of the regular season last year? I would like this race every few years at Bowman Gray Stadium. I'd like to go to other tracks like Hickory Motor Speedway and other 1/4 to 1/2 mile tracks around the Southern states for the Clash and anywhere for the All-Star race (because weather is better). Idk, I wouldn't be against seeing racing like this on normal race weekends. Bring the Friday night racing feel to Sunday NASCAR national series. NASCAR needs to start doing what SRX doing, race at local Friday night races, and put butts in seats at those places. The local short tracks are closing more and more, NASCAR could try to change that trend.

Overall it a good race it was better then I thought it was hopefully they'll keep it at Bowman Gray next year. Do I miss it at Daytona? Yes however despite the dominate performance by Chase Elliott it was a good race if you of course not a fan of someone dominate the race. Impressive run to Bubba with 5th and SVG with 9th plus all 3 Penske drivers in the top 10 2 of them in the top 5 Blaney and Logano.

I disagree about the "positives" about Fox. The coverage was a cliche Fox broadcast. Great race, bad broadcast. - Zoomed in camera angles - Horrible audio mix - Only okay commentary - The crowd shots are back - Despite it being a very small track, they still missed a spin through the grass - side by side commercials is good but something they should have been doing well before this. Their coverage is too old school" for my liking. Mike Joy is a legend, but he's not drawing in a new fan. Harvick is fine and Bowyer won't be DW no matter how hard they try. The Amazon/USA and NBC broadcasts will once produce a much better product. I'm obviously a FOX hater but I saw nothing new from them tonight. Just the annual reminder of how bad they are.

McMurray's idea for Hickory is a nice thought but how about this being a way to soft re-intrdouce NASCAR to the Nashville Fairgrounds without actually having a full on, 2-3 series NASCAR weekend? Use the funds to help rebuild the track & infrastructure, help work with the community to develop that future relationship & get a great weekend of racing to build the nostalgia of those local veteran attendees & new eyes on the track from afar.
@kevinkinney54453 сағат бұрын
Tonight's race was 100% better across the board than all of the races at the LA Coliseum combined. Way better fan support, a faster track with quirks, and a lot cheaper to add safer barriers than to transform a football, track & field venue out west. The shipping, Hotels, travel expenses make no sense versus staying near home base. So they sold out with 17,000 fans... What did they sell in LA? Twice as many? Even though we lost Nascar in the greater Los Angeles area, we can go to Vegas twice a year and Sonoma even though ITS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and usually very hot
