Occy caught up with Gerry at the Billabong house at Pipeline to chat about pioneering the shortboard revolution, surfing G-Land for the first time, and the worst wipeout he ever had at Pipe - literally tearing himself a new one and puncturing his colon.

Occy, I wanted you to ask him about his Indonesian surf trips,especially Bali with his freind Rory Russell,he opened that gateway to an unbelievable amount of surf spots throughout Indo,Java and Sumatra,his discoveries opened up huge surf adventures, He is the pioneer of Uluwutu,its his place of endless perfection,compared today with overcrowding and noise pollution.
