Another thing, you briefly mentioned, be considerate of other campers during your stay! And pick up & dispose the dog crap! I almost stepped in some when we were putting up our tent 🤢💩 Wow, that air mattress must’ve stunk! Thought for a moment we were going to witness some PDAs! 💝

The Vicksburg District covered their pay receptacles and went to online only reservation during the winter of 2019-20. We try to stay at COE parks when traveling because they are so nice. BTW we have spent the last 3 summers in Branson Workamping which is not far from where you were. I enjoy your videos so keep them coming.

KC district is same way. We were at Truman Corp park last weekend. Had to reserve. You only repeat her because she's always right! lol. The one we just stayed at was check in 6pm and check out 6pm. We were able to get in early, but I was a little shocked at that late check in time. Time for the tag line lol

I got an app on my phone called Army Knife and it has a level, compass, flashlight. Might be of some use to your campers. I liked your video. Good info. I didn't realize that Corp of Engineers offered electric.
@billanddeb4 жыл бұрын
There are some COE campgrounds that are primitive, and others that are a combination of sites with electric and primitive. Eagle Rock Campground on Table Rock Lake in SW Missouri is one example. The website will have all of that information, and if you scroll on down there will even be a map of the campground.

I very much appreciate these preparedness tips. We all need reminders. I’ve only stayed at one COE campground and might have assumed they all have the same amenities. Question for you....is there a discount at COE campgrounds for folks who aren’t 62 yet?
@billanddeb4 жыл бұрын
None that I know of, but regular caamping fees are pretty reasonable considering what you get. $20-$25 per night depending on area and available amenities.

Get Golden Age Park Pass. We stay at Rend Lake COE at Benton Illinois. North Sandusky Campground. Full hook up 12.00 a night. Only wood duck loop has sewer. You have to reserve 6 mo in advance because it is very popular.

Campers should not depend on yall for a dog leg, blocks, water hose, extention cord etc....I know you do not mind lending them yours if yall do not need it but it may already be already be borrowed. It may be a drive to a proper store to find what they need. Best to be prepared to save on the stress and aggravation.

Great PSA. Are you using lapel mics? For the first time since I started following you two on KZbin, I used a pair of headphones and the sound was Great! There was a Crow on the left Channel. It gave a better sense of being there with you.
@billanddeb4 жыл бұрын
We're using a Canon Vixia HFR800 with a Zoom H1N as a mic. The Zoom H1N is actually a hand held stereo recorder, but with proper cables it makes a great stereo mic for video cameras. It's taken me a while to get the proper settings. Still have a little tweaking to do, but I'm slowly getting there. The Zoom H1N is around $100.

@billanddeb4 жыл бұрын
Masks are not required but social distancing is encouraged. Deb and I are not paranoid but we remain cautious. The 6 ft spacing recommendation is not hard to do and does not affect our interaction with others.

Hi you two:first time I've seen your show it was great.Just retired and am going to get a coach 38 to 45 ft.can I get it in core engineering place like yours?
@billanddeb Жыл бұрын
You make reservations at recreation.gov. you can put your information in filters, length of rig, electrical, water etc. Then it will only show you the sites that fit that need. I always say our rig is bigger, for instance our trailer is 24 feet I always say 35 feet. Some sites are really long, you just have to check.
@captsam544 жыл бұрын
A lot of rigs that require 50 amp service can only run a few of their amenities on 30 amp service.... like only 1 air conditioner. and not the microwave at the same time....
@billanddeb4 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is true. You must be selective. We have an electric hot water tank. When connected to 30 amp service, we do not run the electric hot water tank and the air conditioner at the same time. We kill the power to the air conditioner, then turn on the hot water tank. In 20 minutes, we have enough hot water for both of us to shower. Once we are done, then we kill the hot water tank and turn on the air.

Bill, I don’t know if you realize it or not...probably not, but you talk with your hands a lot and you cover up Deb’s face quite often. Now of course she’s easier on the eyes and so I notice this. Deb, tell hand waving Bill to sit on his hands a little. Good to see you both are doing well. Happy camping.
