I have listened to your teachings for years - met you once in Florida. I’ve been so busy learning Torah that I have neglected NT reading and teachings. Although I believe in Yeshua as well - I’m in great appreciation for this Romans study and getting many questions answered. Thank you

Yeshua is the center of the whole book. Good point, thank you.

Amein. I like the part on our prayers. My brain has been really messed up through heavy drug use in what I call my past life so I use my liturgy prayers to start me off and it helps guide my prayers as I than continue with my personal prayers. But I make sure my heart is right. I won't just go through the motions. It has to come from my heart or it is in vain. Thanks Bill. I really like Romans.

I am so bless to hear this study. Does Jacob’s Tent have a study book on the Book of Romans?

We're so glad that it's been a blessing to you! We do not have a study book at this time, but maybe we will down the road one day. :)

Bill could you please tell me then the difference between the word "shawmer" and "avudah"?? Thanks, Maureen 🇨🇦
@kolyomhashem8711 Жыл бұрын
avodah [עֲבֹדָה֙] means "to work" or "to serve" and it acts to or for individuals. shomer [שֹׁמֵ֧ר] means "to keep" or "to guard" and it acts to or for things.

Bill referred to Genesis 2:15, "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend [לְעׇבְדָ֖הּ] and keep it [לְשׇׁמְרָֽהּ]". A better translation would be "and put him in the garden of Eden to "work it" and to "maintain it". P.S. - The lamed [ל] in front of the verbs means "to" and the hay [ה] on the end means "her". This points to a secret because the word for garden [גַן] is masculine. Could it be an esoteric reference to the kingdom [מַלְכ֛וּת] of God? Perhaps, the word for kingdom is feminine. So, are we to work to maintain the king of God here? Perhaps.

One requirement of an apostle is that they had to be with Yahusha from the beginning and through His resurrection. Paul wasnt so I don’t know how he got the title apostle.
@herinsh Жыл бұрын
you're confusing the interpretations of men's opinions with the simple understanding of the text. To start with the English apostle is counted as a noun, (this was no translation accident, but was done to justify church doctrine not Scripture) while it's original Hebrew form and it's traslated Greek form it is a verb or can be utilized correctly as an adjective. Clearly the other disciples of Yeshua affirm the simple understanding that Paul belongs in the group of "sent ones" (apostles) there are many others in the Scripture that are instructed to do the work of the apostles (sent ones or emisarries)

(Act 9:15 KJV) 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: (Act 22:21 KJV) 21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

1 Cor 15:7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8And last of all he was seen of me (Paul) also, as of one born out of due time. 9¶For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Are we converts or disciples?
@kolyomhashem8711 Жыл бұрын
Ouch, Bill. I know how words sometimes get mixed up when you're speaking in public, but saying avodah begins with an aleph? That makes it "lost" not "work or serve".

@@JacobsTent Bill, do you believe that God gave us the ordinance of water baptism to wash our sin away? That this is the way He chose to expiate our sin?

If God were in control of everything then we wouldn't have a will. You would have no choice to choose anything other than what he controls you choose. That's not choice at all. And if God were controlling everything then that would also make God the author of evil. These are the same problems that Calvinists make. Just because God is Sovereign over all doesn't mean that He controls everything. We say that "God is in control" because we understand He is sovereign and we trust Him to do what is good as we submit our will to Him... but it is an error to think that He is controlling everything that's just not biblical.
