No, being on the water and actually fishing is the best way to start your Saturday. Watching Bill Dance later in the day is pretty good, though!

You and i.both. We don't all get to cruise around in a 50k bass boat, free tackle. Old used leaky John boat territory here. Met a film crew here decades ago shooting catch footage etc for dance outdoor show. He is good. I do like him, and he seems to be just another good old boy with a little money.

Thank you Bill for hitting on this point. I fish cheaper lures all the time and catch some really nice fish. To each is own, but I never have spent over more than 10 bucks on a lure. Whenever a bass sticks his head out of the water and ask me how much my bait cost before he bites it, I might reconsider. Or better yet that would be the last day I ever fish😂🤣 lol... been watching you since I was a kid. Still my dude! Stay blessed

Thanks Mr Bill, I always laugh when people say you need the newest and best fishing gear. Most my stuff is from walk mart or bargain bin and yard sales. My most expensive rod I bought 8 years ago from cabelas was 120.00 The price of gear don't make the fish bite any more or less. Your knowledge has helped me through the years Thank you sir

Billy wasn’t born yesterday and neither was I. I wonder what all those guys selling soft plastics lures and hard lures think when you remarked about using lures that cost more than $20 dollars might think. Some might cost more to make because of the cost of materials. Now days $20 dollars is inexpensive for some lures; some are sold for prices that make me wonder who buys those things. I tried a few just to see; and so far not one worked better than the inexpensive ones I used before. They look pretty but, bass don’t seem to care much about pretty faces. When I was much younger and found a lure that caught fish like crazy; I bought a bunch and kept them a secret. Most now are discontinued and that makes me happy in a selfish way; none cost more than a few dollars. Some have been reintroduce and painted up real pretty with a not so pretty price. Them young pups might think they know everything but; I know different and so do you.

The first question reminds me of a comparison between the zman jackhammer vs other chatterbaits. Many swear by the former, but I've had much success with chatterbaits that cost less.
@TylerSnyder3054 жыл бұрын
Theres a popular 10pc set of cheap micro crankbaits available online that usually breaks down to 50 cents a piece , and they are well known to be effective fish catchers. Many KZbin fishermen have had great luck with them. The color choices are odd and the paint jobs are horribly sloppy but they are proof that the fish don't care and many lures are designed to catch the fishermen just as much if not more. Many people would pass them up in the store and write them off as cheap junk in favor of something flashier, but those 50 cent cheapies work and you can afford to make risky casts with them.

Mr. Bill , what is your bait cast combo you’re using in this video?
@vkws8284 жыл бұрын
I understand his analogy, but if you use a hammer for a living; you don’t use a $15 hammer. I have heard mixed reviews on the Jackhammer and pros not sponsored by ZMan buy them to use. That is good enough for me to believe there is a difference.

Yes- Accurate/precision casting and understanding where the Bass are in the water column, whether they are actively feeding or suspended, and reaching them with the correct type/size of lure (for the depth & structure) is vitally important. (Like he said- more important than ANY lure!) Gotta find them first- right?! However, discounting "more expensive tackle" because it's expensive is a tournament/PUBLIC WATER fisherman's suicide. Don't get me wrong- want to have some fun with some Dinks?- Go out to your fav fishing hole and throw some 30 year old $4.00 lures! But, realize, over the last 30 years there HAS BEEN advances in commercial lures that do stack the catch ratio % in the fisherman's favor (Them's facts)- especially for BIG FISH. UNDERSTAND- Bill Dance rarely fishes public waters- a bass will bite anything when your fishing on a private lake like Bienville Plantation! And the Public waters he does fish, he knows like the back of his hand! Do ALL "expensive lures" work better than a Pop'R or Rebel Minnow? No- but, many do. Come on Bill! I love you dude- but, that shite your preaching ain't right and you know it...........
