This video was a lot of fun to watch. I love watching Dr. Dave's instructional videos but seeing more of his personality shine through with his interactions with Rollie is great. They seem like they would be a fun group to hang out with and shoot pool on a weekend.

This has got to be my all-time favorite pool video. ~55 years ago, my dad bought us kids a pool table from Toys-R-Us. I think the bed was nothing more than a piece of plywood. But dad also had a few books by Robert Byrne. I didn't know anything about pool, but I loved reading Byrne's books and seeing the illustrations. The backstory by Dr Dave I just loved. Rollie, did I say Rollie :), you were a great student. And Dr Dave was a great teacher. I've got lots more respect for Dr Dave after watching him teach. Seriously, well done and thanks so much.

Honestly I've watched all your vids but Dave is so on point with the fundamentals and the care and the time that I have to say this is your best video yet and Dave did a amazing job playing you I've always wanting to see him play dude I've never seen an actual play video with him and he was kinda just messing with you 'Rollie' lol I like how he kinda made you feel almost belittled in a friendly by saying your name dude he's a low-key hustler bro and also a god at pool but a hell of good guy but that's reality of pool he's just tryna make you learn and help you brother 💯💪. Rollie love the vids but out of all of them this is by far the best I observed every bit of this he also has a beautiful pool table and nice pool room keep up the good work Budd both of you guys hope to see more from Dave especially the CTE system is so real brother listen to him

I like a much your videos. The Idea to show an average player learn and go to proffesional is very good. I cannot understand why you don't have more thumbs, you earn more. Greatings from Klingenstadt Germany ;-)

This is the same thing they teach in Snooker. All the aiming shots are divided by 1/8. They better you get at aiming allows you to go to 1/16 and even 1/32. Ronnie O'Sullivan aims in 1/32 which is the same for Mark Selby.

Very interesting. Good to see you learning new things and improving! Would have loved to heard Dr. Dave explain the physics behind the delayed reaction of a force follow shot. Also, you used the Lord's name at the beginning -- I didn't get that.
@Sharivari5 жыл бұрын
It's because the cueball will take some time until the forward spin will grab on the table. That's why it's delayed.
@TheAvenstar5 жыл бұрын
@@Sharivari -- I was wondering WHY it takes time ...but I suppose it depends on the force (or speed) involved. And I am guessing that the harder it's been struck, the faster it's spinning, and then the longer it will take before it "bites." But I am NOT positive of this - and I have seen a billiards ball "dance" (actually hopping up and down) in place for nearly 2 full seconds before taking off. I can't do it anymore myself; and when I could decades ago I had to crank up to do it ...but I've watched world class players do it almost effortlessly on the half-stroke. What I'm saying is there is way more to it than what meets the eye ...and I think it may be more complicated than just the speed.
@Sharivari5 жыл бұрын
@@TheAvenstar It depends on the type of cloth, if the cueball is jumping a little bit of the table and speed / rotation. Imagine a car doing a burn out, similiar reaction. I have made a video about force follow and cueball physics, maybe it helps you

This is genuinely the only intelligible vid of Dr Dave's that I have watched. I'm sure he knows a lot about pool and could shoot rings around me but his vids focus too much on the calculations and less on the actual playing and enjoying the game. He should get someone like Rollie in on his channel to explain all his theories and diagrams to so that the lay person can actually get what he is saying.

Love the channel. Love this series. Cannot stand listening to this guy, though. I’m honestly sad he has Byrne’s table. Dave’s all brain and no passion. Just my two cents. Keep doing your thing, Rollie.
