she is singing from the perspective of a demon. So "us" is both the light and the dark or god and the demons. "My lucifier is lonely" means there is only the devil on her shoulder since the peter's guardian angel (the one depicted all over the renaissance era religious paintings) is missing. So she only has her darkest thoughts with her. peter is also the keeper of the records of sin that is stationed at the gates into heaven. I think the story is actually from the perspective of God, he sent an angelic avatar, Billie, to bring salvation to the world, but upon getting close enough to earth, the world was so toxic her wings failed and she fell to the ground, instantly corrupted by a toxic society (landing in oil), she comes to realize that this world is almost beyond saving at this point, (hills burn in California, my turn to ignore ya, don't say I didn't warn ya; once the water starts to rise, and heaven's out of sight) and then a comment on the lack of care, people simply ignoring the issues to live the fun, superficial life (women dancing in the flames)

It may seem interesting from a music video perspective (because Satan used to be the main Praise and worship leader before he fell out of heaven) but when time comes to the nitty gritty and my "good daddy" is blindly deceived by Satan ak Lucifer that before he departs from this earth, that there is no heaven or hell- when Dad stated he served the Lord at the mall and paid my way to go to Bible School and wanted a white horse at the Second Coming of Christ- and to see "Lucifer" try to steal Daddy's soul!
