Fun fact: the second part of the song goes from G major to G Mixolydian, which flattens the 7th scale degree by a semitone. In this case, it goes from F sharp to F natural. This mode is known to have a happier, more "free" feeling.

What other superlative can you assign to Billie Eilish? ? I've given up searching for words. She is a special treasure, simply indescribable.

The song is painfully beautiful.. because of the subject matter. I've seen reactions by people who really identify with the song/lyrics so hard that they just break. I saw this one girl that just needed a minute afterwards to compose herself. Had to take a deep breath. Take a drink of water. It was hard to watch. But she later commented to me that the song helped her through that.

true!!! it is always better, because of her performance! she is a perfectionist on the way she wanted to present her art in her recordings right, that's why she pushes herself so much in the recording part. then we will also get great versions of live performances with realistic but perfect tweaks because, live!!!, and also I love that a lot of time the lives also are stripped down to acoustic versions sometimes.... to me billie is for everything, soothing crooning lullaby, singalong out loud bop, cry fest, dancing. every mood billie!
