Billionaire Phillip Frost's Home on Star Island, Miami Beach Florida

Billionaire Phillip Frost owns this amazing estate on Star Island in Miami Beach. His neighbors include Gloria Estefan, Shaquille O'Neil, and P. Diddy. Vanilla Ice used to live on this island years ago in the 80s in the height of his stardom. This estate is over 6 acres with a reported 31,615 sq ft of house, and has its' own green house and gardens. Since he has no kids, it was said that he will donate this house to the State after he passes. Mr. Frost recently donated $35M in order that the Museum of Science would be able to break ground at its' new home, directly north of the AAA (America Airlines Arena) on Biscayne Blvd. Currently they are located just next to Vizcaya but will be leaving there soon.

As far as a legacy, he has donated way too much to charities, and when he goes, he will give even more. Maybe that's better than giving it to kids who would just blow it all away. And who are nobodies in this world...

Oh and last remark here, on Star Island, anyone can get through the gates. It's a public road so although the police can question anyone going through, they have no right to stop them. At Indian Creek Island, NO WAY in hell you can get on there. In fact, that's the only place in Miami or anywhere I know that they have a 24 hour water patrolled police force that circles that island. Not even crime can be had by boat!

@XBMCpro Good question. Why send it to a country that will MAKE almost no difference while using it here you can further the education of so many more educated people. PLUS, there are so many organizations in Africa that prey on people from wealthy countries and then keep it all for themselves. Yes, there are so many details on this home none of us will ever really know. Have faith in your property in Davie. The acreage is huge out there, something you don't get in other parts of SoFlo. May take a couple more years but things are starting to get better. I really do believe we have already hit the bottom and are on the way back up.

Hey Stewie, for someone living in LA, you sure do know a ton about Miami Real Estate. And you're correct about that. Indian Creek Island, is its own town. They have their own Village Hall, police force etc, just for that Island. Some notable people living there are Don Shula, Norman Braman (car dealer and art collector) and some Prince from another country among others. I actually knew someone there that made paper shreading machines among other items. And get this...

Tonight, Phillip Frost and his wife donated $35M to the Museum of Science and Planetarium in Miami. He continues to give and donate his money for the betterment of society. Now the new museum can begin to break ground as they were waiting for this type of funding. What a great man.

@denez2010 It's tough to start anything in this economy. When David started, South Beach was booming with younger people flocking there to live and needed just someplace to lay their head. So Futons were a huge hit then. From there, he began his furniture business and then bought the buildings he was in, rather than renting. That's how he made his money. McDonalds is the world's largest real estate company. Yes they sell burgers, but they own the RE they're on. Imagine that...

His smartest move was to, instead of paying rent, he paid a mortgage, and let his business absorb the write-off, while building equity. He finally sold off a plaza and used the money to buy a lot and build a 15K sq. ft. home on the water in very private community in Coconut Grove. His home is worth 15M and there is no mortgage.

Read that first chapter of Genesis and you will see that in everything God created the "WORD" came first -- then the material form.
