In Britain at the time, music retailers paid a heavy 33 percent levy on records they planned to sell domestically. But the tax didn’t apply to vinyl destined for abroad. While attempting to drive a large shipment of discs to Belgium, Branson discovered that he could stop at customs in Dover, get his export paperwork stamped, then bring the cargo back to sell at home, where he could pocket the tax savings. After a few such profitable trips, he figured, Virgin would be debt-free. “It seemed like the perfect way out,” he later wrote."

I've watched you guys for 6 years now. I truly miss the old videos and go back and watch them often. It was the budget, while doing new crazy adventures showing the rest of us, from all walks of life, how to enjoy each destination to its fullest and without spending frivolously. These high-end videos that 95% of us would never get to enjoy without it making us destitute, I just feel a disconnection now. I'm becoming less and less interested in any new videos, and it's sad because I actually still rewatch the older ones. Go back to your roots. Material items come and go. But watching you guys enjoy new experiences while being down to earth and hanging with "everyday" people, even doing something like camping in the desert with friends, it's the best and makes us feel that somehow we can do it to. Real real life is what's amazing! Even through the tough times. Come back down to us, please! Remember, we fell in love with you guys for yourselves! Not high-end places and lifestyle. But just you guys! You're amazing! Just be you! ❤❤❤ Edit: I wanted to edit this and say 2 things. First, we love you guys, and I can't say that enough. And we're praying for you both. Eplipsey can be tough, but you can be successful at controlling it. Second, I'm in business, corporate, actually, and the first rule is to listen to your customers. Let them give you feedback. Yes, sometimes some things are hard to hear, and sometimes, some things are unproductive and irrelevant, but listen anyway. Most people will tell you there is an issue before they walk away for good. You guys provide a service free of charge, but not really. It's contingent upon views and advertisement links. So while my heart absolutely adores you guys, the business side of me says the very things that catapulted you guys to where you now are, is what your customers love. And if you decide on switching products and they voice they're not interested, listen. As I said before, the old videos are amazing for a reason. Don't get angry at people who've grown to love your channel. Just listen. We ❤️ You!

@tamarakelli6873 ай бұрын
@pgreenawalt It was fun at first for me, too. Especially the trains and on some of the planes. But then it got to be all we saw. Do you know how many channels there are on social media showing the "rich life"? Too many. And I skip over them. I'm not interested. What makes Kara and Nate different is the actual experiences. I loved the monkey run and them unsure of where they were staying at night and the family being so sweet and caring. I love the tandem bike rides and camping out at night. I loved the cheapness yet richness. Me and my family and my friends, all of us, fell in love with them! Some of my friends actually took similar trips that Kara and Nate took BECAUSE they made it look possible and definitely within budget, and they were right! My friends had a blast and it only cost them 500.00 total, for everything, for a week. But the new stuff, I guess, just isn't for me as much. I'll definitely keep watching their old videos and telling friends about them, though!
