Rest assured: If he's really _that great_ of an actor even, no chance he would bother for appearing in every single episode of whatever would be the adequately-decided final-season would be. A "guest starring" credit _à la_ Ms Malin Åkerman or more closer to home, Mr Toby Leonard Moore - will do. And IMHO, reasonably: That would be very satisfactory resolution for all *reasonable* parties involved.

Not just Showtime...Prison Break for instance should have ended at S2, Heroes went on and on and on...Shows are not written with and end in mind but unlike shows from the 80s like A-Team, they don't have any story arc, so they can keep going as long as people enjoy watching. House of Cards another that should have ended earlier.

Damien Lewis - like many British actors - don't prefer to be 'stuck' on a show for long periods of time, especially if you're away from your family.

As a man who was so excited when this show was announced I know the pandemic & his wife dying in real life changed his mind so Damian Lewis (Bobby) left. Billions without Damian Lewis is like Batman without Christian Bale, Wolverine without Hugh Jackman, Iron Man without Robert Downey Jr and Sherlock without Benedict Cumberbatch. The show won't last much. Just the voice and tone of Bobby Axelord use to give adrenaline rush that something smart, insightful, a 100 steps ahead move is going to happen.

Bro I just realized they made season 6 already. I last watched this show. Season 5 ep 12. Whole time like damn when is this show gonna come back. I don’t remember any ads for season 6 or anything and yesterday I see season 7 thinking damn after 2/3 years finally it’s back but I see they say final season? Dear Showtime, I just watched Season 6 Episode 1. Thanks so much for utterly destroying what was once one of the best shows on TV. Without Damian Lewis as Bobby Axelrod, this show is essentially worthless. Toby Leonard Moore as Bryan Connerty is greatly missed too. Without these key characters (and talented actors) this show is no loner interesting or watchable. The last hour that I spent watching Episode 1 of the new season is an hour that I wish I could get back. This show is now a waste of my time. The contrived plot for the first episode was so lame and uninteresting, I fast forwarded past the parts where Chuck Rhodes is on a tractor. What in the literal f#€k. If Damian Lewis is done with this show, then just cancel it and put fans out of their misery. No one wants to watch Billions without Bobby Axe.
