Breaking the Fear of Man and Embracing the Fear of God - Bill Johnson Sermon | Bethel Church

Bill Johnson talks about the importance of breaking the fear of man and embracing the fear of God. The fear of man undermines the fear of God, and the two cannot coexist together. If we want to be effective in this world as followers of Christ, we must be willing to break the power of the fear of man in our lives. The fear of man often masquerades as wisdom in wanting to seek the counsel of others, but will always lead us in the opposite direction of what the Holy Spirit is saying, distorting our perception. When facing disappointment, loss, or betrayal, we must follow Jesus’ example of getting alone with God. Only He truly knows how to heal the hurt in our heart and restore us. When we allow God to heal our heart, on the other side of challenge is great fruit. It is important to have wise friends and accountability, but most important is prioritizing the Presence of God and hearing Him for ourselves. We cannot afford to live under the influence of the fear of man.

I so needed this today (most EVERY DAY) but today… I used to preach and teach toe word of God… but, I got my eyes off of the LORD and got them on the wind and waves. 28 years of Pastoring and so many’hits’ from people (really satan) and I allowed the fear of man (and women 😂) to halt me… thank you and please just pray for me…

He came to me while listening to this. Started with fire in my ears and head, then lightning in my hands and i dont remember where else. He opened up my hands that were like seized up and i felt something in my hands. I think He was holding them. Then i went down on my hands and knees and envisioned kissing his bronze feet and as soon as i did that he struck both of my feet with electricity. I'm skipping over a lot. I dont know what to say. Words fail Surrender your life to him. It took me many years before i finally decided it was time to just be the change and not wait for it to come around. Love you guys
