@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures Turn the rod around in your hand so your thumb is pointed to the butt end instead of the tip. Then you can point the tip down to the water and use almost all wrist to get the action. It's a little weird at first having to switch the grip again when you have a fish but you get used to it and it saves the shoulder big time.
@BillMikesAnglingAdventures Жыл бұрын
i was watching guys do that but i was scared i'd drop my rod ion the water lol

What a cool trip! I've gotten lots of blues (in the northeast), but only a couple Spanish macks...cool fish. After seeing your steelhead videos, you must've felt naked in NC without a wool hat and waders 😄 I use old sneakers on the rocks (or studded wading shoes if there's black or green wet rock). I haven't worn flip flops of crocs in years. ...and as usual: NO SKUNKIN' !
@BillMikesAnglingAdventures Жыл бұрын
thanks man ✌ a little too warm for me down there but a nice change of pace - have to bring some studded shoes next time - still havnt healed up yet lol

Great trip to unwind and relax. So many different fish species coming off that pier including that one guitar fish, that was interesting to see. Seeing 2 fish go for the same lure is odd but it’s possible fishing a school of predatory fish. The bruise at the end didn’t look good, lesson learned. Those boulders looked dangerous no matter the footwear you have on, glad it wasn’t worse than that. Wishing you and Mike a Happy Father’s Day and hoping you’re enjoying the day with family and friends.

I'm looking to go fishing salt water today ( i live inland) can't decide if i wanna do a pier. Considering flounder season just started piers will probably be packed. But don't know of any good beaches or shore type places.

Take the barrel swivel off your line and attach your leader straight to your line cause the swivel causes bubbles and spanish and blues will cut you off more they’ll strike at the bubbles
