Great easy, but very effective project. I've been seeing these in your photos for a while and was hoping you'd do a vid. I'll have to make up 6 or so. One problem I've found when doing tea light projects is that a lot of the ones you buy at dollar stores have a crappy switch that doesn't stay together you take the outer casing off.

+Black Magic Craft That is true, I would recommend spending a few more bucks and picking them up at other places.

That is the best fire effects with a tea lite to date. I like how the smoke just enhances it even further.

IN the future, with vids similar to this one, could you give us a horizontal view. The top down doesn't really show much.

Would it be possible to extend a fiber optic cable up through the "Smoke" to make it glow? I found that the smoke doesn't glow as much as I would like it to. I want to make my scenes dramatic, thinking a dimly lit room, my players sitting around the table, and suddenly remotely turning them all on, (I use those remote little led things,) revealing a large cityscape, the buildings on fire, the orange and red light the only source of illumination. You know. Things like that. And I just feel that the little fire alone is not enough to pull that off.
@theDMsCraft7 жыл бұрын
The fiber optic is only a small area so not the best solution.
@theDMsCraft7 жыл бұрын
You can turn the lights down...that really helps.

Man I'm sorry to be a little Downer but needed a fellow crafter advice I have such a hard problem with everybody getting down on me for wanting to RPG even my family when my daughter has such a great time with me I really just don't know what to do sometimes
@theDMsCraft2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Both crafting and RPGing can be such joys I'm sorry others try to bring you down. Perhaps you can reach out to local gaming groups and find like-minded individuals.

@@theDMsCraft yes what I've been trying to do I can join the table top Crafters guild and watch you and people that support you a lot too because I don't have all the expensive stuff and I love how you craft on the cheap keep up the good work and inspire a lot of people

one thing you need to seriously consider for realism's sake...unless you intend to indicate a chemical fire of some sort (burning plastics, petroleum products, things like that) the smoke should be left WHITE! not painted black! wood, cloth, natural materials like that (which would be the primary components of pseudo-medieval structures depending on your campaign's tech level of course!) would plume white smoke. not black. that said...if you're simply going for an "artistic" idea of fire then by all means black smoke certainly seems to look more ominous and foreboding! great vid as always I love watching your stuff! speaking of which I hope you don't mind that have mentioned you and your techniques in some of my vids on the things I do for my campaign!
@JacksonSimile8 жыл бұрын
I am sorry but that simply is not true. White smoke is an indication of an early flame, but as the material breaks down the fire will change color and it will usually turn black. It could also turn brown because of the wood. White smoke is like the less intense fires, or the early stages of one. The darker the smoke, the hotter the fire is. I'm a firefighter btw. If this doesn't make sense to you just read this. www.firefighternation.com/article/where-theres-smoke
