He wasn't a really good player, but he's not a Kwame Brown/Michael Olowokandi/Darko Milicic type bust that people paint him as either. He was a pretty good scorer, but the thing is he never actually played on a good team and was never an exciting player to watch, so people mostly remember his shortcomings and weaknesses, so it was always easy to pigeon hole him as that Darko-type bust, but he really wasn't an irredeemable player.

@YeeSoest3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure because I'm not that well versed in every past postseason series but I guess it's about making your team beat their matchups by playcalling, playmaking, defense and hustle more so than about outscoring him 1on1, that obviously never happened. Rondo has his ways of helping his team win and DRose may have been an early victim of that. Not sure though, Bill could easily be wrong here^^

The idea that bargnani was a bust is so stupid. Of course he didn't live up to it's no 1 pick, but he played 10 years, 15 ppg avarage. You know who's a bust? Kwame, Bennet, and so on people that get selected no 1 and they can't even stick around. Bargnani only issue was his lack of motivation, he just was happy with what he can do and never tried to commit to some hard work. If bargnani had the work ethic of kobe he probably be a all time player. But he was a bit of jerk, so jokes on him

That’s not a bad pick. Even tho Lowry took longer to develop. Lowry is a great defensive player, a great 2nd to 3rd option. I’d still pick Lowry over rondo and Lamar. Rondo was great on the Celtics. After the Celtic days, he took a dip. I would still pick rondo over Lamar.

Brandon Roy has gone down as one of the great NBA players who's career was completely derailed by injuries. Grant Hill is number one in that club, though he did come back and play well enough to earn an all star spot in '05, he was nowhere near the incredibly dynamic player he was in the '90s. Penny is another player who could've been so much more. T-Mac and Yao also come to mind, poor Rockets. Derrick Rose is definitely in this terrible club. But of all the players Roy was the one who couldn't play at all. At least Hill, Penny, T-Mac, Rose played a few more years as diminished versions of themselves, Yao not so much. I'd also put Jay Williams in the club but he is kind of a unique case since his injuries were caused by his motorcycle accident and not from playing basketball like the other players mentioned. You can make one hell of a squad using those players.

@connorsmith65174 жыл бұрын
Valin if we hold 2010 against Lebron we gotta hold 1990 against Jordan. Both weren’t ready to win a title. 2011 is a valid reason why Lebron won’t surpass MJ. But 2010 against the Celtics? Sorry but Lebron played good in that series I can’t hold him not being able to beat 4 hall of famers against him with Mo Williams being his 2nd best teammate who constantly disappeared.

Unpopular opinion: Memphis should have never traded Rudy gay. Memphis could never score enough points going forward didn’t have a wing scorer who could go get a bucket. they lost battier mayo gay...they got prince pondexter and miller back...but i would rather have battier gay mayo
@danielgalea84994 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree. Also in the Thunder series they lost, the team was just far too reliant on getting stops and Zbo scoring on the block. All their other options were far too easy to stop and/or you can give them so much space because they can't shoot (Allen, Prince) you can jam up their entire offence. I have no idea why they think the Grizzlies got better after losing Gay, I distinctly remember them getting worse and me mocking them for hiring John Hollinger and his useless analytics.
@Kirbystare19924 жыл бұрын
Asmosis Jones thought battier had been gone for a minute unless he came back later?? Mayo was great his rookie year for Memphis then kinda fell off he had a good stint in Dallas. Yea if they had that core they’d be straight.
@Kirbystare19924 жыл бұрын
Daniel Galea exactly nerds who call players inefficient cause they shoot 43% or so from the field or so don’t know the game. Paul pierce and tmac shot around that for their career not saying Rudy is them but he’s at least a poor mans version. If you’re gonna trade him at least get another scorer. That 2015 series vs gs even with Conley hurt they had a good chance. But all golden state had to do was put bogut on tony Allen and it was a wrap, no reliable outside scorer 🤷🏾♂️.

They spend all this time talking about Rudy Gay and empty stats, and they talk up Andrea Bargnani? He could shoot, sure, but he couldn't do much of anything else. When you're 7' and you can't defend or rebound, you can't even call yourself a stretch four. Look at this on/off stats, and no amount of his shooting could make up for his horrible defense.
@MM-bt8ke3 жыл бұрын
Kyle reminds me of a smaller Billups, smart player, good passer, makes others better, good 3 shooter, good leader, strong minded and most importantly a winner (a bit underrated because he is not flashy). Brandon Roy definitely more talented but all things consider Lowry is a good way to go with this draft.
