Hello ASL Heroes!!! Hey, I could really use your help. If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you. A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com. Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!” www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G Thanks! - Dr. Bill p.s. Warm regards and love to you all. :)

Keep doing what you do. I learn so much from every video you make. I just need to find more people who know ASL to keep growing in my signing. I donated, because I hope you never have to stop making these videos. Stay healthy!

A memory aid that works for me for "every Saturday" (every Monday, Tuesday, etc.) - I picture a calendar and how all the Saturdays are in a column, so I'm marking off every Saturday from top to bottom on the calendar

As I watch the video, the signs for WEEK and MONTH seem to follow the same logic (if you placed your hands in front of a calendar, your index finger would mark off a week when you did the sign for WEEK; or would mark of all of the weeks when you did the sign for MONTH). This is probably very obvious, but it helped me to type it out :)

This is the first time I've watched a lesson in this format and I was loving it -- the extra vocab and corrections are very helpful! -- and then A CAT SHOWED UP and it's just the BEST! :D

I'm not sure if you still read these comments, but I've been going through the lessons & am trying to do about one a week, and this week was the first time that I saw you sign something & immediately knew what it meant!! I didn't have to consciously think through what you were signing, I just saw you do it and my brain provided the meaning! Thank you so much for putting these on the internet - it's honestly more helpful than the classes I took in undergrad.

I absolutely still read these comments and will do so until I die and/or lose my eyesight (or enough braincells to read). Thanks for the nice comment. Best wishes in your studies! 45:35 awwww gimmie kittie! It's gorgeous! If you haven't already (I've made it a point to start this series first and not get distracted by other lessons), maybe you could do a whole lesson based on dogs, cats, pets and their respective signs (ball, fetch, litter box, groom, dog park, fish tank, etc.)?

That is a good idea. I'll have add that to my list of topics to do. Thanks! I do have a rather extensive "animal signs" series that Casar and I did. It is a pretty deep dive on animals. I think though that signs commonly used by families to discuss animals would be a great addition to that series.

Tip: If you watch the videos on a full-sized browser with a keyboard -- you can press the space bar and then use the period "." and comma "," keys to go forward and backward one frame at a time which may help you to more easily figure out fingerspelled words. My cat is "not" named "sugar" but the name does start with an "S" and has five letters
