He's completely lying. In the actual interview, the interviewer is completely unaware that Billy Bob is pissed at first, and then is completely taken aback that it was due to his intro. BB Thornton then tells him that 'you were told not to talk about that shit'. Interviewer says he was not. BB then says, 'Well, your producers or somebody was'. The guy goes on to explain that his show doesn't work like that, and his producers don't come in and tell him not to talk about certain things, and he says he was definitely never told any such thing. So, BB is totally LYING here when he claims they personally discussed it right before hand. The interview itself destroys that claim. Moreover, the guy never said anything offensive, but still apologized and BB still acted like a dick. There is no way for him to fix that. On top of that, BB isn't even trying to act sorry. He's still attacking that guy. What I love is how Jimmy Kimmell then intro'd him the SAME way, and they then talk about that incident, and BB isn't bothered by Kimmell's intro at all. Typical Hollywood snobbery. If you're as big a star as he is, you can talk to him like a regular guy. if you're not famous, you have to kiss his ass.

Man, he’s really leaning into the self-absorbed movie star diva cliché. He has such a fragile ego that he bristles at the truth: that his band would be getting a virtually no attention whatsoever if it were not for the fact that people know who he is from his film career 😂
@josephs55822 жыл бұрын
Regardless of his reasoning, the fact that he acted immature and disengaged during the original interview detracted even more attention away from his band mates, which apparently, was what he got upset about in the first place. Wildly immature.

Also he’s changing it… he told them not to bring up he’s an actor

So it was an ego-face off. And the victims were the other band members and the listeners. The Q radio host came out looking good on the video whereas Thorton looked like a drugged out whiner. His attempt at turning the tables failed. Did the need to appease his ego shut out his common sense? If Thorton truly felt that the 30 sec the host spent talking about his acting career was disrespectful to his fellow band members, he is as delusional as he sounded on the radio show. His band members know that Thorton's Hollywood success is one reason the band was given opportunities that 99% of all other fusion bands never get. They know that. If Thorton was trying to be humble, he failed at that. He was the biggest turd at that interview, shitting over every minute of it. His fellow band members and their contributions in the interview were drowned out by the explosion of Thorton's ego. I am a fan of Thorton. Always have been. But even his fans can call a shit burger when they see it.

The interviewer sounded (and looked) entitled, sarcastic, and hurt HIS show wasnt going as planned.

In the end, BBT got what he should have gotten from the start - respect paid to the band and not a lot of film questions. Why do you think one of the band memebers answered the questions ABOUT THE BAND?
@SP-up2xb5 жыл бұрын
You hit the nail on the head. I was embarrassed and sad for his bandmates mostly. They looked like they were watching themselves go down in flames,

this interview was clearly done later in the day not morning like the other one where he likely was hungover and meds not kicked in yet

He’s full of it. If you go back and watch the interview that is obvious. If he were on drugs or going through a tough time just admit that. Instead he’s lying about it. This also makes Jim and Sam look bad because they know this and they’re yielding to his celebrity.
@RobertGoodwin-j1i7 күн бұрын
It’s not the first time Jim has bought someone’s bullshit and run with it. He did the same thing when Chris Kyle told his bullshit story about Jesse Ventura.
@LeftyF2003 Жыл бұрын
Watch the whole interview he's referencing. He compared himself to Tom Petty several times, as if his work carried as much weight as the Heartbreakers catalog, let along Petty's solo work, playing with Johnny Cash, recording with the Travelling Wilburys, etc. And the whole "you can't talk about me as an actor, I'm a musician" thing? Holy crap dude, could you be more deluded? Answer, I think not! ;-)

Nice try at sounding reasonable rationalizing his stupid behavior during that Canadian interview. He’s description of how the dj acted Is completely inaccurate. That says something about his character.

It was physically impossible for BBT to see the host’s “TelePrompTer”. It wasn’t even a teleprompter, it was laptop screen that only faced the host. I’m not sticking up for that POS host but BBT is lying through his teeth.

Literally anyone who pays attention to the interview will get this impression. Billy Bob explained it exactly. pretty straight forward. I thought Billy Bob coming up with irrelevant stories was pretty hilarious. If you watch the clickbait expecting a “blow up” you’ll be disappointed.
@42tregg62 жыл бұрын
So Billy Bob was so interested in supporting his bandmates, that he made the interview entirely about himself? Yeah, right.
@paulcolbourne91123 жыл бұрын
Doesnt change the fact that he acted like an immature weasel. That's what you call a character flaw. Don't even get me started on the band thing. If the music had enough merit to stand on it's own two legs the interviewer wouldn't need to mention acting. However as it is, the music is so horrible that it can only be invited anywhere by talking about Thornton's movie roles which is barely an interesting topic on it's own.
