This movie was a Top 100 IMDB film for a long time on IMDBs Top 250 list but now has been bumped to the 101st spot as of this writing. Nevertheless, this is a film you must see if you haven’t seen it. The acting is top level, it’s a well written film and it’s a movie that will challenge your intellect. I watched this film on DVD in the mid 2000s damn near 10 years after it was released and was shocked how great it was.

It’ll go down as a classic I hope.

The movie was filmed in my home town, as was much of the movie 'White Lightning' starring Burt Reynolds. Great movies!

You'd be surprised how many machines come into the shop only needing gas. I was working in one when this movie was released, and I swear on my guts and livers, we would get at least one per week. One in particular I remember was the lady said she had just got it back from a different shop that charged her over 200 dollars to do a carb kit and basic "tune up" (oil change, air filter, plug, sharpen blade, clean rust off flywheel magnets / coil, blow debris off cooling fins, etc.) Back then we were charging 45 per hour, so the whole thing should have come in at less than 100. She said it ran fine when she picked it up, but after 20 minutes it died and wouldn't start back. She stated she felt they didn't do a good job, wanted me to see what they did wrong, or missed. Put a splash of gas in it, it started right up. No charge. Her husband owned a mowing service, and felt he was being overcharged on repairs. He had sent her to us to test our honesty. We got all his business after that day.😃
