This is my favorite Rockpile song of all time! It’s a perfect rockabilly revival tune.

At the time I liked it for it's Supremes feel, but listening now, of course it's primarily a rockabilly sound. In my defence I was 18 when I first heard it

They should all get together and do this all over again. It was brilliant. the best collaboration of Lowe, Edmunds and Bremner. and how come BB never had the success of the other two - he is bloody brilliant... Mikey xx

I loved Seconds of Pleasure. Rockpile was somehow missed by most people. I have a poster for a concert in the Seattle Center where Rockpile opened for Bad Company

I never realize Bremner did the vocals on this one. Truly a great vocal performance. Saw him in Edmunds' band live and Bremner is an absolutely fantastic rhythm player. Drives and blends perfectly.

I do agree with you. A little masterpiece. Sadly here in Finland the band was very unknown.

I read an interview years ago where Dave Edmunds said that the songs Nick sang were Nick Lowe songs with back up and Dave's song were Dave Edmunds with back up but the only real "Rockpile" songs he felt were the ones Billy sang. He regrets that Nick and him didn't take more of a support roll and let Billy sing more on the one and only Rockpile album. Luckily I saw Rockpile on their only tour of the U.S. in NYC. They were great. That show also turned me on to their opening act Moon Martin.

Anyone ever noticed that Rockpile, though separated, are one of the "super-groups" of whom everyone's still alive? No one's OD'd, jumped in Afon Taf or had gone hanging in the clothesroom.

They were rather well known for the love of booze and cigs, the most commonly deadly intoxicants.

Nick is still at it. Haven't heard from Billy in a long time. Terry was in Dire Straits maybe with Knophler now, and Dave might have just retired (he was a few years older than the other blokes) with arthritis.

Yep, that's all Billy. He can hit the higher notes more clearly, and you can hear it in the harmonies of the many Rockpile tunes. As for lipsynching, yeah, no biggie. So common in a broadcast. Listen to "When Love Goes to Sleep." Lovely vocal there.

His entire solo album, Bash is a treat. (I'd bought it on the strength of 'Shatterproof',as a non-charting single. But 'When love goes to sleep' is such a gorgeous creation, it instantly became my favourite

I thought this was a tongue-in-cheek take on a famous song from the 50's- so it is Dion's. Do you know the particular song's title?
